Tyranny of Draons Owlbear Patch Notes NW.25.20140709a.2

Warlock Updates
  • In response to your feedback, we are testing out a new set of movement animations. We look forward to your continued feedback, so please hop on in and let us know what you think!
  • Shadow Sprint power has been changed to "Shadow Slip. We're interest to read what you think of this new power/mechanic.
  • Updated audio to the following Warlock powers: Shadow Step, Infernal Spheres, Wraith's Shadow.
  • Scourge Warlock: Dreadtheft: Dreadtheft now correctly ticks 24 times at maximum duration (down from 25).
Accursed Souls: Can now correctly benefit from damage increases and Critical Hits. No longer incorrectly ignores damage resistance.
  • No Pity, No Mercy: Base duration increased to 2 seconds (up from .5s).
  • Wraith's Shadow: Now correctly deals bonus damage on the final tick.
  • Soul Puppet: Your Soul Puppet should no longer get stranded behind doors permanently.
  • Infernal Spheres: Infernal Spheres can now be activated while moving and can no longer be toggled off, dismissing any remaining spheres without firing them.
  • Infernal Spheres: Now seek out targets every .25 seconds (down from every .75 seconds). Infernal Spheres: Base cooldown reduced to 8 seconds (down from 10).
  • Warlock's Curse: Warlock's Curse will no longer aggro NPCs when not dealing any damage.
  • Vampiric Embrace: Heal from Vampiric Embrace increased to 75% of the damage dealt (up from 50%).
  • Vampiric Embrace: Curse Consume: Now grants double the amount of health stolen (up from half).

  • Fiery Bolt: Curse Consume: Primary Target now takes 35% additional damage from this power. Surrounding targets take full damage from the blast.
  • Harrowstorm: Curse Consume: Now prones the target for 4 seconds (up from 1 second).
  • Wraith's Shadow: Immobilize Duration increased to 2.5 seconds base (up from 1.5 seconds).
  • Warlock's Bargain: The Curse from Warlock's Bargain can now correctly be used to trigger Curse Bite without any other cursed targets.

  • Devastating Critical: Now properly increases Critical Severity.
  • Soul Puppet: Soul Puppets are now immune to AoE Splats and AoE damage from NPCs.
  • Scourge Warlock PVP sets: Now correcly indicate that they increase your damage by a percent rather than a flat number. This is just a tooltip change.

  • Warlock's Bargain: Tooltip has been corrected to show the correct Life Steal amount per rank up.
  • Wrathful Souls: Soul Puppets should now correctly Lifesteal for the proper amount.
  • Ghastly Commander: No longer grants far more Life Steal than was intended.
  • Offering to the Prisoner: This feat no longer incorrectly reduces your outgoing damage.

Are we going to be able to get back into dungeons so we can do more testing? The straw dummies in the Trade of Blades have unionized after the beating they've been taking, and I'm worried they may go on strike. OSHA is also investigating...

nisdiddums, you may want to remove/correct the first line. I am pretty sure that isn't the correct information. ;)

I can't wait to see the new animations though! Thank you for getting them out to us so soon.

Ok , so got quest to defeat charthraxis - go to area in map and no boss to defeat or indication how to get it .
Lots of people here , no-one knows what to do as there are no other indicators inside the map area .
    What to do here ??????????????????
I'm making an assumption that we have to communicate with the merchant spirits , but there is no communication possible when we clear the mobs around any spirit ...

    Never mind . It's an HE .
It was actually quite easy . About 8 or so of us . 1 GF and the rest were ranged .

1 concern about this HE is the time between each HE triggering , can the other quests from the harper be triggered before this dragon gets beaten or do we have to beat it and then get the harper to release the additional quests .
This could be a bottleneck in this area .

I just tried it, you kind of fade out to other people (similar to stealth, but still a bit visible at least outside of PvP. I can't get into pvp at the moment to see if that is true as an enemy) but it appears to be a smoother sprint somehow. It might just be the -40% stamina consumption making it appear like that, but I'm easily able to avoid boss attacks at the very least (tried it out on the draco in whispering caverns) without too much worry at all and I don't rubberband like I do 24/7 on my GWF sprint.

It doesn't appear to be. "Sliding" past mobs seems to have the same aggro radius and the notes say nothing about stealth but, instead, increased DR while using it. Great legs on it, though, I can slide for a rather long way.

It's available to level 30? Quite different from other modules, but I certainly won't complain about new leveling options.
Neverwinter players are stubborn things....until you strip them down to bone. (Cursed players, my flowers, MINE!) Oh how I plotted their demise.

Just starting to explore the changes, but had to log back on with a huge THANKS for the animation changes in the SW :) They're very nice and now I'll enjoy playing this class instead of tolerating it because of the animation. Thanks for responding so quickly and for listening to our input. That's something that makes this game extra enjoyable to me.

Well, I noticed that dreadtheft no longer stops when you release the key. Died figuring that out, as I had to wait to cast the next spell. I'm assuming that's intentional, so will just shift around the order of casting. I did the quest with other random people who all joined but didn't officially group. We killed the dragon and all the surrounding NPCs...and kept killing the repopping NPCs until we figured out that was it. The replacements really respawn quickly, which is fine, I guess, as long as players get out after killing the dragon. But I didn't get a quest completion at all. So do you have to be in an official party that starts the fight? HEs in Icewind aren't like that, so I was wondering why I didn't get the quest completion.

I'm editing this after playing a bit more. Dreadtheft has a few positives and some negatives as it is now..at least for me. I like that you don't have to keep pressing the key. But I'd really like to manually be able to stop it. I had lots of times when the mobs in the direction of the spell were all dead, but I was unable to cast something on a mob in another direction until the dreadtheft ran out of time. That really messes with your reactions, in my opinion. I'd like to see it stop when you press another key for a different spell. Not sure how others feel, but it's awkward and dangerous sometimes for me.

On the animations, I noticed that I got a really cool animation opening one entry to a quest objective, but on all the others, and other doors, my warlock just stood there with her hand on her hip. The same happened on pickups..no change in animation.

    Thanks!

I think you can break it off early w/ the shift ability.

The problem is that that makes the entire power clunky.

It used to be "I need to cast another power; I'll just let go and go straight to it."

Now, it's "I need to cast another power, so I'm going to shift and move, then take aim again (possibly from a large group of enemies) and then fire"

There needs to be a way to cancel it more standardly. as it stands, the **** thing requires a solid two seconds to cancel out, which is just unacceptable where even half a second of delay causes rage because it means players and monsters can and will stomp you.

Is there more of mod 4 up there that you have to complete the first HE quest to find? If so, I hope I can figure out why I didn't get credit for that quest.

    Shadow Slip - L O V E IT

The new shift animation I would prefer this to be the normal movement animation for the warlock, if you see my earlier post this is EXACTLY the kind of animation that would suit a warlock instead of walking/running!

Also the new hells gate animation is nice also, however did you see my earlier post of it being a AOE Ground based attack A hells gate would be better served if it was on the ground consuming those who are in its radius when open

    +1
