This is by far the worst one... usually I complain how easy they make these things.. but this was just isnt EASY its long.
If its going to be easy, cut them down please.

What I would really want out of a CTA is a shorter version of the original, but make the end boss twice as hard please. Do two separate queues 1-59 and a 60.

Other games do that, I dont see why this one cant.

I cant believe how mind boggling simple , easy this is, plus factor in its stupid timed response, to me, Ive played these types of skirms before, if you finish one group, the second would spawn faster (you actually got extra points for that as well) so any group mowing them down would finish much quicker, wish this one was just like that.

...oh but at least the dyes are rocking it, I have to say , best since the Magma a few ctas ago. Im going to keep doing this thing for more of those, even though I hate it.

Black ICE Armour is fantastic with this dye, at least on my CW.

I've farmed all previous CTA events for both companion and transmute without complaining for anything, but in this one you've got the time to seek the meaning of life in between battles.

They nerfed the drop rate for this and the previous CTA too much...

It's really not that much longer, and even shorter than some Skirmishes. The reason it feels longer than it actually is, is because there are not only less mobs but the mob spawns between fights is slow due to where they spawn and them having to walk to the edge and drop down. If you time the skirmish though and don't dilly dally around in it, it's average duration is in the same league as all the other Skirmishes.

That is completely inaccurate. I have timed other skirmishes. I was able to finish the Bridge CTA in under 5 minutes per run including the time it took to queue, load, collect the chest and exit. Yes, that is faster than most groups would be able to do it, and it is probably faster than the developers intended for it to be completed, but to claim that this one is around the same average duration is laughably false.

    Summary of the event:

    Pros:
-One good lvl 60 DPS class can carry an entire group with ease and it will take no longer than if you have 5 lvl 60 DPS characters (very low-level friendly).
    -Dyes are kinda cool
-A guild can get together, form a party, and take turns having one or two people do the skirmish while the others go afk until it's time to collect the rewards from the chest. Switch roles and repeat.

    Cons:
-Painfully slow spawn times for enemies.
    -No challenge.
    -Boooooooooring.
-Terrible rng drop rate on companions.
-Unable to buy companions from CTA store.
-Drop rate on enchantments is horrendous and even then you only get level 1's and level 2's which are worthless.
-Most of the time spent in the CTA will be spent doing nothing but wondering what's on TV or if there is a better way to spend your time.

Overall, it's the worst CTA yet.

I cannot think of the name off hand, but the one with the mind-flayer at the end is longer than this one, and loads of running. Especially if you wipe at the boss.

I have a few low level toons and with a group of low level toons this CTA is just as long as the others. I believe it was meant to be lowbie friendly. If you take a group of high levels then you will finish each fight faster than they can produce the monsters.

^This , why the heck will they not just add a bound version of the companion to the store , at least if they did we would have something to aim for if RNG was letting us down like it usually does 99% of the time .

My mistake. I misread your first post. I thought you were stating that the CTA is no longer than previous CTA's. Re-reading it you were stating that this CTA is no longer than skirmishes, which is true. Apologies.

The skirmish would have been more interesting if the spawns came out during a time limit, not clearing the previous wave. They simply don't throw enough at you. Even a level 6 had trouble dying.

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this or anything -- I queue'd up to join a Gate Crashers event. When my party got in, there was a player sitting in a throne on the top of one of the pillars. I didn't see their name. No mobs spawned, and a few seconds later I had a window pop up that looked like a normal quest window - But it said something to the effect of (forgive me, I was trying to get out of this as fast as possible) "Farm gold, items, enchants for (something)" and then at the bottom it had an accept/decline dialogue. I declined twice and was then removed from the instance, and the game gave me the quest complete dialogue (but it didn't count towards the daily skirmish, so IDEK). This seems like the kind of thing that should be brought to someone's attention, I just don't know who. I'm also really worried that they've tried to install malware on my system, but tests are (so far) negative.

Has anyone else had this happen?

** Already suggested a ton of times in this thread alone, the people are pleading with you Dev team -please seriously consider adding bound event Companions to the CTA vendor. **

The way it is now you get rewarded by going to the AH and opening up your wallet and just saving yourself all that time and aggravation. Sucks to realize - Hey?! Wth- there are actually fun things to go do in the game right now, but not this -this feels more like a punishment of being bored to death (on top of bad RNG for the companion drop).

I want to put something out there for the Devs, another suggestion.... a huge part of the reason this event sucks so bad :P

You have an ENTIRE world of gorgeous maps, send us adventuring back into them for CTAs and skirmishs! After you level past world map areas there is no reason to ever go back to it. What business does a level 60 have out in the boonies of a level a 38 map? These days, none- because the game has zero content for us there. This is such a crying shame because your team has spent a great deal of time in creating those awesome maps, plus most people level very quickly so a new map can come and go as you're hurriedly venturing on to the next one. Our already mapped out world should be used for events such as skimishes and CTAs, by making an instance of them where the mobs scale according your/party level.

Please stop creating these shoebox maps for these events and start making them happen in areas that already exist today. Small maps are boring!!! Open it up already, let us run around in the wide open, NOT caged in- in a backyard, wheres the freaking adventure in that??!! <3

    Thank you!

"beckylunatic" Gateway AH should have column headers to sort by buyout, bid, end time, quantity, etc. These disappeared iirc with the module launch. It's obnoxious.

Look in the Preview Shard. They are giving us reasons to return to some maps. Only played through once, but now they are adding HEs! Not sure if it is available to all levels, but the little skulls in place of level indicates scailing to level :)

I never get the companion drops and usually buy from the AH. They are surprisingly affordable for so rare a drop.

We have been asking for them to add the pets to the medallion of battle vendors for a while now; The put them in the similar vendor for the Repsen's Game event, which was great, but sadly such a change hasn't made it to the CTA vendor.

Funny got the pet on the first fight and only wanted it for one guy any way so I am good same thing happened a while back with the skeletal dog (blue one) I think I got a few of them and sold the other two, maybe I am just lucky. Any way was unimpressed with the whole event any way might as well been a pit fight. But it is some what limited what you can do in a computer game compared to a live RPG game with books. I mean if they really went by the D&D rules fly, invisibility, climbing, teleporting, and many other spells and skills would break this game. I mean they can do it in a super hero game DC, champions or the old City of heroes, but when it comes to fantasy take away the fly, and climb skills and powers to limit the persons areas they can get to. Any way sorry got off on a rant there, the thing is the drops are random and try alternating between other characters if you have them might help.

I feel that this particular CTA event needed a bit more tweaking; There should have been less downtime between waves, and perhaps they should have attacked from more directions at once. I also feel that there should have been a mini-boss partway through.

It's too bad that the weapons are recolors of the Deahknell ones; I would have liked to have them be similar to the Defend the Bridge weapons, instead with a blush fiery glow...

I got one on my 3rd run and have since ran it over 20 more times without gaining another.

I wish these companions would be put up in the CTA vendor for that CTA and just make the vendor ones Bind to Account on Pickup and then Bind to Character when equipped, leaving the ones that drop in the chest Bind on Equip. This would be much better, in my opinion, as I seriously loathe RNG systems.

There is a drop percentage, but what that might be is unknown. It is pretty low, as with all CTAs, but it can't be that low as I have seen any number of Intelligence Devourers walking around in Icewind Dale. So I surmise a few people are getting the drop in order to be able to either have one or sell it in the AH.

No, I have not gotten the pet to drop, I have only managed to get the pet from one of the CTAs so far.

The drop rate is miserable. According to my Dye Pack count in my inventory, I have run it over 40 times without a Intelect Devourer drop yet. It's really dissapointing.

I currently have 1,592 medallions of battle. I have already bought thee weapon transmute. I have run this cta exactly once. I work on average 14 hours a day, my play time in game is very limited, (not complaining), however my job allows me to be on gateway almost all day. I can earn the MoB all day long. Please, please, please give me something to actually spend the MoB on. I would love to be able to buy the companion bound to the account or even bound to that toon. Otherwise, their is no real need to run SCA.

Considering we didnt even get the Intellect Devourer as a Medallion of Battle purchase.

This CTA could be more challenging. Currently, after defeating a wave, players stand at there waiting for the next wave. That's boring. I ran it 22 times and then could not withstand any more.

The waves could come non-stop without any interval. That would be more fun and feel like a real siege.

And the scenery also needs to be more heroic and morale-boosting. The current one looks like my grandmother's yard.
