Three things I would like to see in the AH are autobids, the ability to simply checkbox an item to have it appear in 'my bids', and a history of 'my bids' so I can see what price the items actually sold for.
As everything is global and there are no open hours I find it pretty normal to see an auction I want to keep an eye on ending when I'm asleep. I have no idea what it sold for in the end.
More often than not an auction that starts at 1AD doesn't fetch that high a price and I think that is because there is no autobid. I've lost count of the number if low priced items I've bid on and then have 'lost' because I was otherwise occupied when the auction ended. I might have bid higher if I had the chance but I really can't go jumping on the AH every hour or so to track down the items I'm interested in to see if they've reached my actual limit or not.
How the autobidding could work is if the AD you've already spent on a bid stays there and is simply topped up by the autobid function, otherwise with the way things work at the moment each autobid would drain that amount of AD from your total each time it went off. Not gonna work hehe! If it recycled your last bid and topped it up it shouldn't be too difficult coding wise.
The reason a history would be awesome is because I see so many items on the AH at price X which is what the sellers seem to think it is worth because every other one is on at that price. But how many of them at that price actually sell? The true price of an item is not just what someone thinks it is worth but also what people are willing to pay for it. Currently there is no way to know what price people have been willing to pay for items, everything is based on what the seller sets.
All those Angels on there at 1M AD but how many of them have actually sold for that?
Interested to know what people think and what other mods to the AH might help it to function more effectively for both the buyer and the seller.
Oh and can the next module be somewhere warmer? My orc in a mini-skirt is freezing her buns off!
