"vs TR" experience (aka: you don't have to be perma to be effective)

Howdy, I was cruisin' the forums and just wanted to drop by and say hello sharing a story that could be interesting to some.

Today's Domination, random game, I got against a TR. Nothing new, nothing rare.
The fact that I want you to focus on is that he wasn't PERMA stealth, neither Attack only (no stealth-build): he was utilizing, imho, the TR to it's true name, zappig in and out of stealth to kite many peeps and still contest a node, hopping off the node and resuming (oh and btw killing me in the process XD).

In my humble opinion he was playing very good his character: sure, he wasn't oneshotting jesus and his brother but surely he was contending nodes, VERY durable (with his tactics of blitz-stealth) and really difficult to pin down. He was deninitely NOT the "typical" perma that relies only in stealth, he was somewhat of an hybrid (iirc he even hadn't enhanchements, like bile or such). What was especially glaring was how he played, completely cool headed, with no "rush" to end things quickly (and dying in the meantime, like many TR I see).

All of this to let you know my perspective as an opponent of how beautiful a TR can play without resorting to "Extreme builds": notably how being cool headed can really improve your gameplay as a TR, and overall effectiveness in a teamplay.

Peace :3

if HAMSTER perma came, roar gwf,hr path he be dead very fast with his combat style

the grandexeno, great to know that there are other TRs around playing around with different builds, I think the TR has lots of potential out of perma in PVP.
about what f2pma said I have no idea what he's talking about XD

...oh, I have a good idea on what he's saying.

■ He's saying those types are freaks that use stuff that never works in that "premade-level" thingy.
■ It means they don't really have any skill.
■ It means they make wierd builds as a mental mastu*bation to make up for the lack of skill.
■ They are sucky PuG level dorks, all the "fun and discussion" they have just don't matter.
■ PuG PvP. concepts, ideas are useless and is not worthy of mention.
■ People should only discuss elite-level PvP builds and tactics.
■ Anyone who's not qualified to talk about it (= not a premade level player) should just STFU.

You'd be surprised just how many "premade-level" players have that same idea, as well as their fanbois. LOL
Stop making excuses. Be a man.
If you know something to be broken, stop using it.
Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'

Tired of being a PvP rogue and want a real challenge? Roll a GF/DC for PvP.

Yeah I've been getting off perma lately as well. Kinda got bored of it. I only pull it out when necessary.

Some people make fun of you though when you go classic rogue. One CW guy was taunting me as was like "Oh where's your ITC etc etc"... I'm a WK lol. After that, in another match. Another cocky CW killed me when I was experimenting non-perma combos (No shadow strike and whatnot). Once he killed me he typed "LOL nub", so I pulled out the perma and loled back at him XD.

Conclusion: The mentality these days is: Non-Perma TR = Trash, garbage, nub. etc etc you name it. This is because they stepped on our damage badly and hit us with nerf bats :D

Just a few more days to a new BiS set that's not built for permastealth. I have to say I'm as nervous about this as I am excited. Will it allow me to return to a more combat kind of playstyle? Or will it still pale in comparison against permastealth rogues despite it having unbelievable stats! Can't wait to find out.

You know, I've been meaning to ask; Does that boon, Thayan bastion, count as temporary hp? Ie, is it halved because of healing depression?

Not necessarily!
I used to run a Perfect Flaming/In-Out of Stealth Fine Tuned Build for Flurry and was kicking *** hard!!
Slotting some G.Tenebrous and Black Ice Enchants for POWER and some AP regen, and of course a lot of Movility to land those Duelist Flurry ...
Hit PoTB, go stealth and bring in the action to the ENEMY and I usually endep up rapping them as my
Flamming Hitted MUCH harder than PBile and I ended up Melting their HP, was it called GWF,GF,TR.
HR gave some trouble as I lacked some Ranged Capabilities, but my daggers endep up doing some fine job
at melting that HP. Sure my Stealth was shorter but I hitted so hard usually melt those guys in one rotation In close range they got scared and ran or wind up dead :) lol

I love how people comment on things that they have no idea about.

Let me ask everybody a question:

One day a millionaire come up to you and teach you the secret of success, then a street drug seller come up to you and share his success formula, now you have to pick one as your golden rule of life, which one should you pick?

In short, is OP a good TR, or is he even a good PVP player? My guess he doesn't fit neither of the case, he is just another PVE/PVP causal player that share his opinion in forum, which btw that opinion is ridiculously misleading.

I say that cause I play with and against the top tier players in PVP scene, which gives me the knowledge to comment, but can OP say the same about himself?

TL;DR

OP is having another daydream section, any TR that is not full perma build or semi pema build suck monkey balls in PVP period

I love how absolutist some people are, they think that they have the truth and nothing else is possible.
Current builds were discovered once too, and maybe some people thought they sucked too, but only people who dare to think outside the box and try new things will discover them.

Blah Blah Blah. Get a premade together and come premade if you win you get to talk. Some people talk what is right, some people talk cause they have a mouth.

The truth is your TR needs an anti CC skill. Also it is still the best class to troll 2-3 people on node (followed by WB triple kills lol). So why would you go without these things? Lashing TRs and "deflect" TRs are so underpowered. WK TRs are even more underpowered and cannot accomplish what a MI can.

This is at least how I feel about TR. Can I clear nodes or people fast with it? No. Can I debuff people for other to kill fast? Not really. Do I have reliable prones, can I go CC people properly? No, again, although smoke bomb is really fun. Can I heal? No.

So then, in my mind, the question is: "How do I help my team BEST as a TR?"

For now, the answer is MI trolling 2-3 people or if it is a serious game, taking ages to get cleared, and the reality is that you need to get out of CC, or you're a sitting duck once some trash CW that cannot take 10% of your HP otherwise Icy Rays you for the GWF or something.

Just my 2C.

and this is exactly what i started to do.
full perma with lurker walking around on a node willing to not being hit by a random roar.
dont even try to attack...meaningless
however just to show you the crappiness of what the OP is saying: make a list of this unbelievable combat trs and i will find one of each class in my alt guild able to kill him in a matter of seconds.

or you can test with me directly if you want

You mean when I asked if you wanted to sell one cheaper because you were undercut by six people? I don't consider that crying I consider that an opportunity for you to make money. Whenever I make a significant purchase I always speak to the people who are undercut and try to get a good deal. It's just the way I operate and it saves me a lot of money. For example I saved over 1 million on current market prices that day by using that technique.

Confused; Where is the relevancy and your comment? Does this have anything to do with my comment that walking around a node stealthed doing nothing is (sarcastically) exhilarating?

Let us just put this to bed now. No one ever advocating whisper knife has said that they believe any of these builds to be more viable than a master infiltrator perma - semipermanent build in the premade meta that we currently see. We have all stated that ITC is just amazballs, hands above VP. We have only stated that it is still effective, that I can work and it can be fun. An alternative build that more meets a players play-style in the right pilots hands can and will beat the cookie-cutter flavor of the month. That is all we are stating. Now can we move on? Or have you decided no other build is allowed to be spoken about?

I await your permission.

To be fair, people playing as backstabbing murderous thieves, in real life or at least deep down within, would have a lot of animosity and violent tendencies that can only be rectified by condescension and written harassment of others' ideas. Though since we're all Trickster Rogues, that is an understatement.
