Has any DC or GF succeeded in getting a gear drop to meet the requirements for Kestrel Retreat.
Going to be a different game without those classes there.
I've seen several DC and GF walking in icewind dale in 2-piece black ice gear

Do you need drops?...
You can buy the helm and the boots from the merchant. If they're charged to tier 3, you should get a total of 20% resistance to black ice (the requirement for Kessel's).

You need 3 pieces unless they actually fixed the requirements which I doubt they have. No need for a dc/gf anyway. I guess a dc makes things a little nicer, but it's disappointingly easy anyway. At least when I tested it on preview.
It still requires more than 20% to enter though doesn't it?
No , somebody managed to open Kessels early on live today and posted in bug reports about it needing more than 2 pieces and a developer said that there is a proper fix coming next patch maybe but for the time being if you change maps after equipping the 2 pieces of gear the skirmish will recognize the 20% resistance and you can enter , I haven't tried it myself because I can't unlock it till tomorrow ( or monday if it's a 20 hour unlock ) so I dunno if it works . Heres a link to what the QA guy said http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?679661-Kessel-s-Retreat-queue-is-bugged&p=8056461&viewfull=1#post8056461

I have a DC that has all 4 pieces of the armor, but I am still upgrading them into a corrupted set, at the moment I only have the helm. So it will be awhile for me.

Yeah I won't be able to start unlocking it until Tomorrow either.
I'm a hair away, then I'll be able to start running these again. I do have the 3 pieces though all upgraded.

And my GF only has 1 piece of the armor at the moment, the armor which can not be upgraded in level 2 of ice shaping. So it is going to be a long time for that to happen. Well I play my cleric more too, so....
