Before you say anything along the lines of "we don't want it" It's overrated" or "This isn't WoW," please hear me out.
While I'm not saying the current state of the game isn't fun and enjoyable, I do think that the player base would be bolstered, potentially excessively, if there were large group raid scenarios available. I know, I know, this is a DnD based game. But it's also considered a MMO. I know a multitude of people who didn't play past open Beta because there were no raids in the endgame. Yes, 5 man groups are enjoyable, but after a while they seem to leave something to be desired. For those who want this and would enjoy this, It's definitely worth implementing. For those who prefer solo gameplay or the so far traditional 5 man raids, they could continue to participate in those.
All I'm saying is a variety of options hurts no one and only serves to reach a more diverse group of gamers who would participate and become integral parts of the community.
Personally I'd love to see something like this implemented. I've grown bored of the 5 man teams.

I think the most the game engine could even handle is 10 mans, i just don't think the game is optimized for raids honestly, now i think 10 mans would be alright but i doubt it will happen any time soon.
Do an epic heroic encounter in either Icewind Dale or Dwarf Valley. I have fought the Remorrhaz there with at least 15 people at once before, still took some time to kill it.
I like large raid, too. But the main problem is content type. When implementing that, they also need to introduce fun and exciting content inside the raid. It won't make much difference if the content is still only following a glowing path and killing.
It's pretty obvious that this game was never designed to have 10+ people on the same frame all mashing encounters and dailies. I'm sure they realized the terrible FPS of such content (regardless of hardware) while mod 3 was on test. So they coded a fade script that activates when there are too many actors in the area (I assume) to keep frame rates stable. Since this is the case, I rather doubt "large raids" will ever be considered.
The GFX is just too flashy and the engine itself is far from optimized for performance.

More than that in Gaunt at one time.
