I posted this a few weeks ago. PvP Domination makes zero sense when mixing premades (of any size, even 2) with pugs. The resulting pug-stomp is griefing and utterly unfun, arguably for both teams. Even the most sadistic of premade players will acknowledge it gets boring match after a few match of 1000 versus 10 or less points with them holding in the center waiting for a bored pug to jump down and feed them. They do it for the glory coin and leaderboard padding.
What value is a Leader Board when the score just tallies your bullying statistics?
I queued twelve times yesterday and faced premades with three or more GWFs eight times. The team composition alone of premades makes it ridiculous for them to face pugs.
Yes I can and do join my own premades. Yes I am in one of the top PvP guilds. Those allow me to work around the silliness of the system. The current system is still silly.
Please do the following:
1) Create separate queues for premades (of any size) to face one another and never solo queuers (unless they flag for premade)
2) Allow solo queuers to flag if they want to be included in Pre-made queue. It may speed up their pop and solve problems when premades can't fill out a full team of five.
3) Add random timer to the "queue ready" popup so players can't work around the premade queue by synch queuing.
4) Reset the Leader Board and keep separate stats for solo and for group queuing
These changes will greatly increase the fun level for the majority of PVP players. The sadistic few will have to work for their glory is stead of stomp for 15 seconds and idle till the game ends.
#1 kinda screws the pve type people that may not want to increase their chances of running into pvp premades. Also I'm sure some of the pve'ers enjoy the comfort of a premade where they are not subjected to toxic behavior from their own teammates.
I wish I could answer this directly, but I cannot without making many people that are busy farming the PvP campaign extremely angry. After all, who am I to spoil their fun...
As people said before, leaderboard means squat, as it's full of exploiters, and the ones that are legit are 90% pug-stomping in full rank 10 premades (of which I am guilty myself, but cannot refuse guildies forever...) and 10% fighting the occasional enemy premade.
The system is very shallow at the time being and implemented without any safety measures, and many people take full advantage.
Get rid of the leaderboard and start an actual ranked league, with tournaments, brackets, so on. The league would be a guild league and guilds would put together teams for each bracket they want to participate in. You would then have ranked matches and unranked matches. Demand it.

I'm seeing this more of an "unofficial" thing. First of all, it is incredibly hard to find a single time that would accommodate the majority. Secondly, this would appeal to a very minor group
First and foremost, level 60s need to have their own leaderboard. 10-59 can be in one, 60s on another.
Second and more importantly, it should rate based on wins not not your score per round. Guild mates and I have been top scorers in winning games a lot recently, with matches ending 1000-200 or so. Because the other team gets shut out and doesn't cap, match end points are only about 1300-1600 points per player, or maybe 2000 at most on the winners side. And you lose ranking on the leader board. You can be the top player in a match where the other team scores less than 100 and you will still lose rank. It makes no sense.
Players should have a rating based on their skill/wins not the amount of points they can get. Because like it or not, most of the top tier pop matches from the hardcore pvp guilds that go on for 60-80 minutes and can net top players less than 4k points.
TLDR: Make rating more about wins and less about farming points or cap trading. And separate 60s from non60s.
I'd be more curious to see a detailed explanation of how that works. I've been on page two for the most part since it launched. One night I took six straight losses which put me on page 37 for a few minutes but finished the night out back on page three. Today I started in the middle of page two on the leader boards, but have mostly been paired with 7-10k gs green gear wearing, afraid to step on a node, starting 4 on home pointing, running off a contested node to chase a kill losing newbods. I can't see how any of these players have ever won a match with their incredible lack of tactics.
Is ELO matching player for player for equality? One match there was a pretty well geared gwf on the other team, but the rest of his crew I could drop with ease. That would put me as a 15.5 TR against a 15-16ish gwf. Was the rest of our teams just balanced 1 for 1? If that's the case, that sucks.
If it is based on wins, then wins against a tough premade from a pvp guild that takes 1 hour gives the same points as a premade team pug stomping for 10 minutes?

#3 Why???
#1 - Any size premade will result in an unbalance team. "Oh i just want to play with my friend who is also a GWF" Two pvp specced GWFs on one side when the other side is lucky to get any. It will end as you expect. Broken composition is a huge determiner is shutouts.
Why #3? You honestly don't know? There are those who are already synch queue exploiting to pad their PvP leader board stats. If the devs don't prevent synchronize queueing people will queue in the solo queue and end up in matches with their friends. They may end up against them but that can still allow them to pad statistics like they are doing now.

They need a solo queue only Leader Board and a seperate Leader Board for premade/league/ranked matches.
As long as this is not implemented the leader board means absolutely nothing, and only promotes bis players doing premade to reap the rewards as they are based on kills mostly.
TLDR: Make rating more about wins and less about farming points or cap trading.
Spoken like a true hero of premades.

Skill with the ability to enter with premade? exactly how did you think any skill is involved as long as you can face pugs with premades....

It is the queue mechanics again to blame. Or rather the lack of enough players at certain times of the day and during the week. I know how you feel. I went from page 1 to 13 back to 8 over the last couple days.
I now unqueue as soon as it takes more than 10s-20s for the queue to make a match, because then you are in for a gamble. You could get into a match against weak players, or you could find the weak players on your side. The queue keeps you waiting, because it cannot create a balanced match, and the longer the waiting takes the more more unbalanced the match will be. The outcome and your ranking after such a random match becomes unpredictable and is certainly not a reason to PvP. One wants to progress, or lose and learn, but not take part in a gamble.
Same with when the queue prompts with a match where there are already 4 players ready and waiting (4 green hooks and you). This usually means someone on another match making did not respond and the queue now tries to get you to fight in the match. This is another situation where I now decline the match.
I really wish the devs would make it so that the game tells you the balance of a match when it gives you the prompt to accept or to decline. Then one can decide if one wants to risk it or better do something else when no balanced match can be had.
Until the queue allows PvPers to make an informed decision and thereby avoid unbalanced matches is there no point to discussing the finer details of the leader board itself, because whatever factors will play a role will the queue scatter you all over the board with its random match making.
And let us not discuss premades here. Premades are dodging the problem, when we really want the problem solved for good.

Tourneys could be held at peak times. Beyond that, at least a ladder? Something one can progress through vs the other players that is not easily exploitable.
Old news. The leaderboard within the current system is not reliable whatsoever. It's merely a halfhearted effort to introduce something that adds competitiveness.
The time would have better been invested in a true challenging system, separate pug and premades queues and such.
I just fedup when one cleric who play only one match, win that match, kill none but death once with 0 assist has a higher ranking than me... Is this possible?

What is the majority right now? Gwfs, tr, hr, and cws, not really surprised ob the peaderboards are full of these classes. Swtor did the same thing turned pvp into a joke where people would avoid fighting each other just b/c it would ruin thier score. Welll looks like its time to move on. Premades vs pugs will be in any game btw if peeps want to Q together let em. Anyhoo, the ranking is only to stoke ones ego nothin more
There is already two separate queues. If your solo queing and facing a premade, it means there is also a premade on your team as well.
The majority of the time if you solo queue, you will be put into a game with all solo players.
Not since Mod 3 it seems. I solo queued last night and got thrown against 2 or 3 premades with no premades in my team. Also the old huge differences in GS seem to have returned.
Resetting the ELO was a really bad idea. The Leaderboard itself is pointless and counter-productive as now everyone is only interested in their personal points tally and not teamwork.
You don't have to run, most of the people on the first page or two fall into 1 of 3 categories
1) scrubs in a scrub guild running 5 GWF parties to pad stats.
2). Scrubs in a scrub guild queuing up a team of mains against a team of Alts to run up K/D and wins.
3). Perma TRs running around kill stealing from stealth and running every time they are below 90% health.
So yeah, stand your ground, you'll be fine.
Hey I'm on the first page (last spot but still on it technically lol), and I don't do any of those things. In fact, I don't do premade pvp at all.
I suspect there really is very little cheating or anything beyond playing to win to try to get higher on this board. It doesn't mean anything. And I recognize a few of the names on the board from playing with/against them, and they're just good players with good gear.

I didn't say all, but yes most seem to be.
Your TR is the one on the first page yes? Crazy amount of kills, not many deaths, not many assists? Yeahhhhh......

Just get rid of it altogether. It is too exploitable, inaccurate, and it is a waste of dev resources.
So many better things to spend time on than another useless scoreboard.

Isn't the work done already? If you want them to remove it your are basically spending resources to change it again

Enforce rainbow parties in PvP ---- 10v10 PvP ----
Should be [Caps + Kills + Assists + Time in Minutes to Victory (or - Time in minutes if a loss)]/ Total of other teams points.
This is a new start, feel free to make constructive additions.

You sure what you're seeing is just typical poor tactics in PVP as most people were pre-leaderboards?

Good TRs will usually be found stationed squarely at the enemy's home point, and if they're geared, they're going to get lots of kills.
And they're rogues so they can bail on a fight if it's going bad.
And obviously no assists since it's just them there.
I wouldn't assume they are last-hit wonders. I recognize some of the TRs and they're just super geared and know how to play.
edit: oop I dropped to the 2nd page . Not sure how exactly since I only won a couple matches...
