I've been tirelessly trying to assemble the perfect roster of companions to push my TR to new heights but there's limited info available for how some companion's effects actually play out.
1. My first and foremost concern is with the Acolyte of Kelevmor companion and her initial +3% Incoming healing bonus. I acquired this companion to complement the Greater Lifedrinker enchantment I'm currently pushing to perfection level. Due to it's small amounts of life it siphons from damage dealt it is hard for me to tell if the active bonus is having any effect on healing received through the life steal effect. I've noticed that when I use a potion while that active effect is equipped, the added healing is represented by a small amount of healing that is incurred separately with its own animation. In other words, it's not added to the base value but tallied independently. With all the boons and enchantments I have geared towards my TR's life steal attribute I can't tell if the +3% Incoming Healing bonus is having the intended effect of boosting my life steal slightly. I've asked around in-game but have gotten mixed answers on the issue and it seems almost a matter of opinion. If anyone can provide a concrete answer to the question, "does the healing boost apply to health gained through the life steal function?" I would greatly appreciate it. Also if anyone has upgraded that companion to Epic I'm curious to know what the upgraded effect to her active bonus is as well.
Also I purchased a few companions before the active bonuses were initiated and once the bonuses were patched in I realized that the companions I purchased were not best suited for my TR. Of course they were already bound so I'm stuck with them. I asked the Devs if they couldn't issue some sort of re-allocation opportunity for companions bought prior to the active bonus patch, like when the give out free re-spec tokens when new paragon paths become available. I got a response saying they had sent my request to the "higher-ups" so that they could consider it, but that was like 2 months ago. I'm still pushing for them to come up with some sort of "release token" that you could purchase to free your bound companions so that they may be used by another character on your account or sold at auction/traded. I don't see why they haven't done something along these lines already. I realize this is two posts in one, but I know there are others out there who are in a similar situation with companions they've purchased before the active bonuses and I'm looking to rally some support so that we might see this request fulfilled. PUSH FOR COMPANION RELEASE TOKENS! My dog is tame and if I gave it to a friend of mine it wouldn't go feral, I think companions should only be bound to accounts not characters in the first place, but that doesn't make them any money. With the "RELEASE TOKEN" that could un-bind companions they can still make money selling them and I don't have to be stuck with two companions I have no interest in using. EVERYONE WINS! Thoughts on this and shows of support encouraged in additions to any incite on the aforementioned question concerning the healing bonuses effect on life steal healing.
