I am just wondering why isn't the companion available for purchase in the Event Store like last time?
I have no problem with it being bound on pickup, i just want to have it, and farming 3 days for 'a chance to win' doesn't look too promising.
I could play the skirmish for Medallions, getting 500 of those is not so easy, but i would gladly do it for that companion.
But for 'a chance to win' it... we all know the drop rate of those don't we...
Also it seems enchants 'suitable for your level' means Rank 1&2.(i am lvl 60)

Actually the last event, was the one off. All the CTA events awarded the companion in this way.

Not that I agree with it. Id also rather have a buy option as well. I just dont expect it to change

In that same vein, why are the weapon skins all BoP? Would it be too much to ask that those be account-bound instead? Because I know what's going to happen....

They are account bound. It doesn't tell you what it binds to until after it is bound.

I might do the event for a fire weapon template and if I'm lucky enough to get a free companion, great. But that's a maybe.

I won't waste my time trying just for companions. I did that once and wasted a whole weekend, that was enough of that.

I'll be focused on Star Treks 100% bonus XP instead.

I never really had any issue with at least getting 1 of the drops from cta, and there's always the option of buying them. 50-60k isn't that much. Anyway it's still up for several more days :). I'm sure there are less lucky people though.

The issue is that some people get 1 per 3 or 4 runs, and thus, the 'Whales' get fatter, while other people don't even get one in hundreds of runs.

Yep, that's me. I never get ANYTHING besides rank 3 enchants, dye packs, etc. It's literally the same garbage every single time. I did the last CTA over 90 times and never got the Druid. This time, I'm almost at 30 and *gasp* NO SPRITE! Not that I expected anything different. It's just not very fun when everyone around you is getting multiples of stuff, and you get NOTHING.

On a side note, I really did love the opportunity to buy the Slime Companion & Pocket Pet from Respen's. I bought both, because neither of them dropped for me. On any of my characters. Over TONS of runs. Seriously, why does this always happen to me?!

    Ok, update:
TR, 60 Runs or so, 1 Sprite, 2 blue Brutals.
DC, 8 Runs, 1 Sprite, 1 blue Brutal
So the chances to get one are stupid, and at least on the companions, there should be a way to get one in the long term, after enough runs. Just a little Carrot, to get people to do the events, even if it is bound, because a low chance doesn't mean that people continue, but they resign and just ignore the 'content'.

This event is like a step back from the last one.

I get that the last one wasn't a "Call to Arms" event but people were praising it for having randomised elements, which make the experience somewhat fresh each time they enter, and also the fact that casual player wouldn't have to grind for the rare drops, given how little playtime they have, with the ability to buy the drops from the vendor.

Now, it's back to square 1.

Same maps, same enemies, same tactics each round and the casuals like me would have to pray hard for RNG God to give them their blessings.

I don't know how many rounds I've played but I have gotten 2k or so tokens, and still no sprite. 20 plus dyes after using some for my armour though.

RNG God, why do you hate me? =(

Agreed, talking to many people doing the last event having the bobble in the store was what made the event.
Sadly I doubt Cryptic has any interest in this (AD sales, padding player numbers and hours), neither do those who play the market (so expect no replys and complaints from here)

I thought they increased the drop rate on companions, because I got 2 in like 6-7 runs, but it looks like i was just lucky... anyways, it's under 50k on the AH, so if you don't feel lucky, just farm a couple PK runs on DD and there you are :P

But why are ppl complaining about drops?, the best things you can have are Rank 5 Brutal or the Companion, and both are literally trash... 1% AP (I even prefer +25 stats from the 2G companions lol) and Rank 5 Enchantment is at about 1K in AH (or less)... the ppl you say that's getting a lot of stuff... is geting a lot of trash... don't worry :)

You get those blue seals you can trade for Refiner's Cache. Every 2-3 runs you get enough marks for 1 cache, and it's worth some 5-6k AD. You can do the whole run in 5 minutes with an average party (some have claimed they did it in less than 2), thus you get some 20-25k AD per hour. It doesn't look bad, for casual parties :)

Making the event pets buyable for event marks sounds like a good idea, as a bound to account pet. Hopefully Cryptic could change all the CTAs to this much nicer form. For sure, the amount of event marks must be balanced right, maybe 2k or something like this, but depending on pure luck if you would get one or not isn't much fun and lowers the mood to do the event very much, atleast for me.

Oh yea, I forgot about the refiners cache, I did get like 35k from those yestarday but it's so tedious doing that... at least for me, the CTA is so short that after a time I find it very repetitive... I think I even prefer doing PK fast runs instead...

Yes I agree with this , I didn't really get a chance to run it last night due to work commitments but I have run it today , I wish they would add a BoP version of the pet to the store , I've run it almost 40 times now and no pet and yes I know I can just buy it but that isn't the point , I would prefer my own drop and why are the dye packs still only stacking to 20? I cannot understand the reasoning behind making them only stack to 20.

Why would you prefer a fraction of a percent to a 1% difference o.o? The shop bought one is 2%. Not sure what the event one is at purple, maybe the same?

Yeap that is a strange thing to say , 1% ap gain is worth a lot more than the +25 the whites give .
