    If you come up with a way that lets you finish your workload at your job with the same results in half the time, you probably won't get fired, though.

    employers strive for legitimate efficiency. if that includes taking shortcuts using loopholes and operations/mechanics that are being manipulated or used in ways not intended, i doubt that kind of efficiency would be implemented.

    Well, that's why i wrote "the same results". I didn't quite expect there to be room for interpretation, might have been my mistake.

    So basically this is a bit of a futile discussion, seeing as everyone's mind is already firmly made up. Well then, sorry to have interrupted, everyone have a nice day.

    The accurate comparison would be if you got the same results in half the time by breaking the law.

    While that might not get you fired (removed from the group) it will get you put in jail (banned).

    In real life there are plenty of laws which slow down production. The most basic one is called "Speed Limits."
    Delivery companies can't improve service by speeding. Commercial drivers are also not allowed to drive more than 15 hours per day. Those are the rules.

    That's the more accurate comparison. You can't speed up content completion by violating the rules.

    Yeah, that's quite correct and acceptable.
    I may still disagree with the underlying idea, but it is quite nice and final.

    Analogy police is satisfied, everyone have cookies.

    Gaming is only good while I enjoy it. If you think that I care what others decided should be enjoyable, you'd be wrong.

    I only care about my very own tastes and pleasures. I seek to fulfill them and as long as I don't harm anybody (virtual universe here, heh), I don't care.

    Work is not fun (well for me it is, cause I do what I like, but I'm a rare exception).

    Games should be fun. If a game stops fun, I'll either:

    - look for a way to make it fun
    - change games

    If those "ways" to finish your job involves illegal activity, you probably would get fired from a reputable workplace

    As a perfect analogy setting up for a game of DnD is a lot of hard work, especially for the DM. The DM needs to ensure everyones characters are ready, everyone is up to date on the rules, choose and or write a quest/campaign, find a time that suits everyone to play and make sure that the correct equipment is available to play with. (THIS ISN'T ALL FUN, ESPECIALLY EXPLAINING TO A PLAYER THAT THEY CAN'T USE THIS AWESOME BUILD THEY FOUND BECAUSE YOU ONLY WANT THEM TO USE PHB1 ECT.)

    After all that, which for the first session can take 4 or 5 days, he or she then gets to sit down and play for an hour and if they are a good DM, get to see the looks of enjoyment on peoples faces as they play.

    Now you are correct, Neverwinter should be a leisure activity, but no other MMO throws top teir loot at you for ten minutes work, each and every one makes you earn that loot. Hell, Everquest and WoW used to make you earn a chance at that loot after a 3-4 hour raid minimum. Be glad that Neverwinter only requires just under an hour for most of the end game loot.

    Either way of looking at it, the fact is that what is or isn't an exploit isn't up for discussion. If you glitch through scenery to avoid fights then that is an exploit, if you wind up spending more time climbing around mobs than it would take to fight them, then that means you are an idiot, either way I'll just keep playing the way I am.
