Numbers

On my Guild Roster Comments, my guild puts in our Gear Score so others can know how our gear is stacking up to other members, but when I try to put mine in it censors it, and I can not figure out the reason.

I am putting it in as this,

GS = 7849


To get around it right now I have to put in

GS = 7850-1


Any ideas on why this would be censored in game?

    That's very weird. Can you put in *just* 7849? What if you type GS 7-8-4-9 or just GS 7.8K

    That one I can't think of a reason for.

    However most times with numbers being censored it is leet speak for something pretty nasty. I am just drawing a blank on that one. :-/

    That happens a lot when I'm trying to communicate a number to the party that contains a "4" in it. I agree that profanity filters are always a question of proper balance, but maybe a dev should write an SPR to give it a second look.

    lol, buy blue lvl 60 gear in the AH... you won't spend more than 2k ADs and you will have 8 or 9k+ GS and no problem with the bugged filter.

    It's not weird at all. It's the overzealous profanity filter that periodically gets random non profane things added to it. There are several threads in the foundry forums on the filter. Some things marked as profane at one time or another include "hide", "con" (despite there being the con artist companion), "child", "wipe", and "PC". The filter also has leetspeak number substitution algorithms, so goodness only knows exactly how that GS triggered it.
    I wasted five million AD promoting the Foundry.

    For a while many months ago my characters named "john" were blocked as well 90% of the time for some reason. People would try to ask or tell me something in chat and it would block it. It even blocked it in things like the quest messages to my inbox. I'm sure it is just another flaw in their system.
