I was one of the unlucky members that put time and effort into acquiring the more elite Companions early on in my first play-through. As with many of my qualms with this game is the development of the game is always exposed to the players way too late, as are the sale specials and bonus zen purchases. I'm tired of feeling stupid for not sitting on my zen or money to buy zen until these random specials take effect.
How about advertising the bonuses or sales for the following week as well as the current week. At least let the players maximize the value in their purchases.
Now, for the Companions. Unlike in every other aspect of the game, when a development is made the players are given the means to make any changes they may feel necessary based on the new aspects available to them. New Paragon paths= Players getting a free re-training token. However, when the developers decided to add the whole active bonus aspect to the game no one ever got a chance to un-bind the companions that didn't jive with how you were wanting to build your character. Now you're stuck with a companion that you don't use at Lv. 60 (if you have a Stone Companion) and that does nothing for you in terms of how you play your specific class.
I think the developers should allow the companions purchased prior to the initiation of active bonuses to be un-bound and let the player get what they can for it through trade or auction. My Trickster Rouge has a 35% life steal, boosted higher by my Stone of Allure that has been upgraded to epic, plus my greater lifedrinker enchantment on my weapon, and lastly the endless consumption boon. Which means that if I deal 11,000 damage with one full duelist flurry hit, I absorb anywhere from 5,000 - 9,000 HPs. So, as you can imagine I was pretty upset to have to bench my honey badger companion b/c my Rogue never falls to under 30% HP with all the life they can steal. So can I not get a break and un-bind the badger that I NEVER have set active and sell it to someone with a lesser life steal. It seems like that active bonus would be more suited for a GWF or GF. BUT... When I bought the Honey Badger it had no description of the active bonus b/c no companions had active bonuses yet and like with all other things I didn't find out about the companion developments until it was waaaay too late.
Instead of "I just bought X and 1 week later it went on sale! I demand a refund!"
...it'll be "I just bought X and 2 weeks later it went on sale! I demand a refund!"

Thats the purpose of a sale.. If you wait, you generally get the opportunity to pay for what you want at a cheaper price or when its on sale.
You cant blame them because you were so quick to open your wallet to get what you want as soon as possible.
...it'll be "I just bought X and 2 weeks later it went on sale! I demand a refund!"
Where does it end? Caveat emptor.

'Nuff said.
Marvel could solve this problem in a stroke by creating a X Man called Rouge. Either that or sow vast amounts of confusion.
