I would realy like to be able to chose evil gods for worship.. what is the meaning of playing Drow Elf if you cannot worship Lolth? --my favourite god however is Cyric--
Also some classes, like the Cleric or the Paladin (if it will come out eventualy) that are 'faith based' sould have different powers/feats. For example a Cleric of Cyric should have some madness related debuffs.
Actually there are a number surface Drow elves that worship Eilistraee. Plus male Drow are also known to worship Selvetarm. There have been canon stories and adventures where Drow have worshipped a few of the other gods as well.

Yes, actually the drow have an entire pantheon of drow dieties (Eilistraee being the notable single good one). Lolth pretty much commands everyone worship her, and none of the others though, so worship is generally done in secret.
Actually, we are against the Thay and Szass Tam..
As the ultimate plan of our friend Szass Tam is to destry Neverwinter to create his Dread Ring and in the end destry the whole universe and the gods.. it would make perfect sense for the evil ones to ally themselves with Neverwinter to defeat Szass Tam (so they can continue with their own malevolent plans of betrayal and corruption)...
Also, some deities should be class specific.. for example it would make little to no sense for a mage to worship Tempus..
AND there really Must be a choice to be an unbeliever.
adinosil - yes! God specific quest is a great idea. varetmarkush - and why not? If he/she excersizes his/her magic on the battlefield, for example? I admit a warrior worshiping Mystra would be a bit strange... tho still should be possible. An option not to worship any god should be available, but what with invoking then?
About not worshiping... one thing could be something like some unbeliever NPC who could buff the player for 'not submiting his will under some arrogant god's"
In this particular case under "unbeliever" I understand a person who doesn't worship any deity. Some of them can also not believe in existence of gods (maybe they are insane?).
In Forgotten realms the dieties have this thing called the wailing wall. its where souls go that do not have a patron diety. Not mearly not believing in gods,... but simply no patron. its a big huge wall of dead people that exists in kelemvor's realm.
A such, (and because gods in this world are tangible beings that walk the planet on occasion)only a few insane people do not choose a patron diety, whether or not they just sorta pay it lip service or not.

It's the Wall of the Faithless. When you die, your soul goes to the Fugue Plane where you call out to your deity to come bring you to their plane. Those souls whose calls go unanswered, or don't call, go into the Wall (if they're not taken by demons) for all eternity.

Which is okay seeing as how the only Drow deity still alive in 4.0 is JUST LOLTH. I mean, there's Ghaunadaur, but he GTFO'd before Lolth and/or Eilistraee killed him.
Also, I am all for more deities for us to choose. Such as Ilmater, Bahamut, Mielikki, Gond, Berronar Truesilver, Clanggedin Silverbeard, Angharradh, Garl Glittergold (along with Gnome's becoming a playable race, thank you very much) and a few others I am sure I am missing.

Actually, it doesn't exist in 4e anymore. And as much as I don't like the 4e, I find this a good change.
It is also worth pointing out that, for drow at least, Eilistraee was killed while inhabiting a mortal body by a special artifact. This unintended sacrifice redeemed her followers and they were taken in by Corellon.
Seeing as we are the " good guys" in the game it would make little sense to allow us to worship evil gods.
That's the problem though isn't it? This game is suppose to be based off D&D, but isn't even close in any way to being related. We shouldn't be pigeon holed into playing the good guy, we should be able to choose an alignment and play the role we choose. The lore in Neverwinter is so bad. It's boring, stale, and a seems like a blatant ripoff of World of Warcraft's lore (which took a turn for the worst after Wrath of the Lich King). I was so disappointed when I made my Drow and didn't see Lolth as an option for a God. It also irks me that necromancers are apparently evil in this game, when in every other D&D based game I have played it was simply just another viable form of magic. The fact they made this game a straight up G vs E, black and white with no gray in between does nothing but take away from what it possibly could be.
The fact they made this game a straight up G vs E,
Not only that, but they railroad you into being on the good side. I've said it before, I'll say it again....in an MMO, having choices is never a bad thing. Taking away choices is a bad thing.
Returning to the game after a qutie long absence, I would like to see Eilistraee and Vhaeraun added to the list of the deities, since it has been confirmed that they have just come back during the Sundering, in 5e.

Something like a god-specific quest path would be a nice start.
