I'm just getting into MC and VT and have a q. What's the fastest way to get the fabled weapons/armor. Is the only option just to run these over and over? It seems to be a bit difficult to get a pug to pick up an HR -- although I've done ok when I've gotten in. 1st in pain once, second another couple times, third once.
I noticed that you can craft at least the fomorian bow. Do you need the ingredient to drop for you in MC before you get the recipe? Or can you just buy the ingredient drops on AH? I saw the blade drop on first MC, but didn't get it.
Anyway, any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
Easiest way would be to just buy CN weapons off the AH. They're just as good as the MC weapons and will easily take you to Dread. As for the armor if I remember correctly they're BoP, so you kind of have to run it to earn it.
The recipe will come available after you pick up the first piece of the weapon. However you still need to be a Lv 20 weapon crafter with the proper assets to use it. This also applies to the Dread weapon
I've got my Fallen Dragon off-hand weapons (wich by the way, are superior to the Fomorian ones for the HR) the first time I killed the Golem. Never saw them again afterwise (in 25+ runs).
Never saw the Fomorian HR off-hand by the way, and I did MC more or less 20 times.

Run it about a hundred times
or
Be lucky as **** and only run it about 10 times
my guildmate ran VT 75 times and still hasn't gotten his FD parrying blade.
That said, for everyone but GWF, running MC seems pretty quick, as the other offhands drop from first two bosses.
Also, i have people who run 5 runs or less and get their offhands immediately
And if you do buy CN weapons, please buy from me, and thank you
