refining stone issues

HAs anyone else had an issue with upgrading stones?? I tried to upgrade multiple stones from rank 4 to rank 5 with continued failure. I know its a 60% chance of success but I have tried 10 times with wards to not lose anything and all were failures. That is just against the odds, statistically speaking. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

It's not unusual. It's also not unusual to refine several at that rank without a failure. I have done it a lot, and the best advice I can give you is to not waste a ward on a refinement that low.

You can buy rank 5's from the AH all day long for very little AD. I've been playing a fairly long time, so I get close to my AD refinement limit on multiple chars everyday, so I realize its not as easy for all.. it wasn't that long ago that I was in no good shape AD-wise myself.

But just take your time, farm AD with dailies etc. You should be able to buy an r5 every couple of days that way, at least. If you are leveling, don't even sweat it, the 1 rank point is not going to improve you so that you would notice.

You have to consider that later you are going to want to do bigger refinements.. and you are going to find yourself short on wards.. which you will need. In addition to the reagents, it's going to be killer costly. So save them.

You can also after a couple failures, close the refining window completely and move to a different spot. Some people have said this has worked for them. I tried it once after a couple failures and the next time I tried I got a success.
