I'm at the point in the game where the only thing I do now is run DD for T2 sets for my toons. Having a few hours to play a day, enough for most online games, doesn't seem to work for this particular game. For example, today DD is at 8 PM (dinner), and next DD is at 2AM (I'm sleeping). This happens quite often through out the week, to the point where I'm only running DD with my guild maybe 2-3 times a week.
I don't fully know the rational behind the timed activities. My guess is it allows more people to do activities together, or to limit the amount of times you can farm for gear. If it is the former, then the server merge should've addressed that issue. If it is the later, then there are much more elegant solutions to what's currently in place.
I can see why activities like pvp are timed, but for DD it seems unnecessary. I've read somewhere that the devs want us to anticipate upcoming activities. I'm not sure if I'm excited about dungeon runs that I cannot participate in, but I can definitely say that it creates an indifference attitude towards the game. I now log onto the game, see that I cannot play during the scheduled DD hours, and log off.
PLease give us more flexibility for DD hours. Keys, tokens, dailies, etc...been done to death in many other games that are much more user friendly that what's currently in place.
DD should happen much more than anything else. The time intervals in between DDs should be 2-3 hours. It's the only thing making people log in regularly.
some months ago there was an idea for DD chest keys, similar to the keys in the Sharandar area.
The idea was welcome by most players.
I suspect they found out that this is what we, the customers, wanted all along. So they scraped it in fear to fulfill their customer needs without said customers paying for it. Just my thoughts.

I also often can not do a DD due to RL interfering with the schedule of NW.
