I am look for a way to have children in my story. (my Grandchildren)

It is pretty easy to make the girls smaller and look very young, but I am having troubles with the boys.

All the boys look like old midgets instead of little boys.

Anyone got any suggestions?

It isn't easy to make them look right, I have a little girl and a little boy in my first quest. I found with the boy it helps make him skinny and his shoulders less broad. I think unless you have one running by you most days you forget how skinny and gangly a lot of little kids are.

Yes - use the customize options that allow you to go to extremes. I usually start with Urchins and Halflings to create children, then with the custom editor you can set their weight, height and all that. Here is the trick to make your NPC look more like a child: Larger head. The head (and eyes and mouth (not the nose)) should be larger than normal in proportion to the rest. The nose should always be relatively small as possible. Lips should almost always be toward the "Full" end of the scale. Eyes are often relatively large in proportion to the rest of the face as compared to older people.

The younger the child, the larger the head in proportion to shoulder width. Here are some basic guidelines - and they are just guidelines:

    Head to shoulder ratio:
    Infants are about .85-to 1
    5 Year-olds are about .65-to-1
    10 year-olds are about .55-to-1
15 year-olds are basically .5-to-1 (female) and .4-to-1 (male) - it is the facial complexion that makes them look young.

Part of the problem with creating children is the facial and skin complexion. Children's skin is almost luminescent - super smooth and soft-looking (as a pro photographer: trust me on this). This is where it's difficult in the NPC creator to creating children: obtaining the right skin look. Hopefully you can pass it off with the proportional guidelines I've given. Not perfect, but passable.

You could also try one of these.

    Peasant Human 19
    Peasant Human 21
    Peasant Human 22
    Peasant Human 24
    Peasant Human 25
    Peasant Human 26

Just a few I found using a quick search.
