Sometimes is would come in handy to be able to use a 'volume' type object to mute outside sounds.
This isn't a 'must-have', but I have run into a few instances where it could certainly be useful.
The idea is, basically, that there would be differently sized and shaped volumes that, while the player is within them, no sounds that are positioned OUTSIDE the volume could be heard.
Even something as small as a twenty feet in diameter could be useful if you wanted to imitate a 'time-stop' event, or a sudden silence for some reason.
