I find there is no reason to get glory after u get your artifact. Currently I pvp just for the pure joy of pvping (even though current system/balance has some... a lot of issues I still find it quite entertaining). The thing is I would like to have pvp specced character and still be able to develop it. Unfortunately the pvp build usually just sucks in dungeons and pve build is getting stomped in pvp. The solution would be exchanging glory for something that is valuable, easily tradeable and always needed. 2 main currencies - gold and AD (not the raw AD) - should not be traded directly for glory, imo, because of inflation. In one of games I played u could get keys to open chests with valuable items - pretty similar to enchanted keys system, because it'd be perfect thing to spend glory on. Im not sure, however, if there is any chance that Zen only items are going to be obtainable without spending Zen (Coalescent wards are example they actually can, though). Other thing I think would be good, are BoE salvageable epics with reasonable glory price so you can either salvage them by yourself, getting raw AD, or spend them on AH for price below salvage income, so others can buy them and salvage them by themselves.

The items/armors from the vendor which you could purchase for glory used to be bind on equip. They switched it to bind on purchase so I doubt they will change it back. So they won't offer any bind on equip gear for glory. The chest idea may work but technically you could just salvage the equipment for AD buy keys and open boxes if you really wanted to. I find the benefits for pvp enough to do them with the dailies and equipment you can purchase. So technically you can already do everything you mentioned and by opening boxes you can get coal wards through bars.
I wish there was more things you could buy with Glory. I have bought what i can a long time ago . Other than PVP health there is nothing for me to buy anymore.Have had it maxed at 25k for a very long time and just think that it needs to be beefed up with more and better items.
Also i agre 110% the balance of PVP is way way off and that people who leave during a match should be penalized with a 2 hour cooldown. Many times i go in as soon as we may start losing by say more than 50 points the team bails and i find myself and maybe one other waiting for the end. If you run away you should get SPANKED as you do in STO.
If you want to stop bots and have good PvP games then two things are needed.
Firstly, all rewards from PvP should be account bound and non-tradeable for gold/AS in any fashion. This would allow powerful PvP rewards, although possibly such rewards (armour/enchantments/etc....) should only be usable in PvP. This destroys the incentive for bots.
Second, a matchmaking systems.
These two things would allow people who want to play PvP because they enjoy it to do so, and gear up for PvP, while drastically reducing the incentive for bots and the chance of being ROFLstomped by higher geared players.
