First of all, I wanted to say good job on the art, feel, story of Shadowmantle. Whoever does this stuff at Cryptic, you really save this game. That and the combat design and mechanics. I am also very happy that the community was listened to on the refinement system. I am not that far into it, but I can already see that it is a much better system. Last but not least in the praise category, a HUGE thank you for making the new pack available in the Zen Store.

Now that the praise is done, let me list off some things that I feel still need work.

Upgrading companions is way to costly. Something needs to be done to help here. On my guardian fighter I will use seven companions. 3 purple, 2 green, 2 white. One of the purple is an already upgraded Ioun Stone of Might.

The Galeb Dhur I bought for 2010 Zen when it was 33% off. I converted AD @400 per Zen fo a total cost of 804k AD. Ironically this will be my cheapest companion in terms of AD.

The Lillend I bought off the AH wile they were dropping from profession packs. The 860k AD I paid was a phenominally good price.

The Ioun Stone of Might I purchased with Taurmaline Trade bars and upgraded from green to blue to purple for a cost of 1,250k AD.

I will normally use my Armored Wolf (from the Orc Assault Call to Arms) which will also cost 1,250k AD to upgrade, and the white dog companion which will cost 1,550k AD to upgrade. I will also use the Helmite Ghost Paladin and Cleric companions for regen in tough fights and they will cost the same 1,250k and 1,550k AD to upgrade. I am also considering an Ioun Stone of Allure but this is not currently a huge need for me.

All in all this will cost me a whopping 8,514,000 AD. And that is before I factor in the cost of gearing and rune slotting my Ioun Stone. This needs to be greatly reduced... this is just the cost for my Guardian fighter. The economics of this game have made me a one character player, even though I have 10 character slots and 8 level 60 characters. I want to play the new hunter ranger, but all I will do is level them and let them rot at 60 because in this game it is just too costly to switch mains.

For now I will leave it here, this is the biggest issue in the game that currently needs to be addressed. It is absolutely ridiculous that it will cost me almost double the AD to upgrade an in game white companion than what it cost me to purchase a Galeb Duhr or Lillend for.

Edit: I wanted to let the devs know too, good job on the positive aspects of this post, I may or may not be in a competitors beta, and I was all but gone from this game. You saved a customer, good job! :)
