People NEED to READ, seriously. When forming a DK group my post looks like DK GREEDRUN.... pm me. Because I know, that some people like to forget things after 2 seconds I usually repost after the group is complete, greedrun btw, greed on epics, need on shards etc... .
Still once a week someone needs on epic gear. If it is a belt or things like that we remind him/ her about the lootrules and continue the run. If it is epic gear worth 200k+ AD he/ her gets kicked.
Once a month one of the kicked players complains, that he/ she did not agree to the abovementioned lootrules. Here is the thing, if I look for ppl for a GREEDRUN and someone asks to join abovementioned run he/ she AGREES to the lootrules.
If someone posts lfg and I invited him, he has the option to leave the party, when I tell him, that it is a greedrun. This has happened before.
If, as the OP claims, he really did not read the post about greedrun in his partychat, I feel sorry for him, but I woud have voted as his group did.
BTW, as above mentioned, 99% of the players run DK for the ADs, not for he gear. Even if you get a pice of gear you coud use for your class I woud recommend to sell it and get the gear in DD. In the long run you will get the gear in DD for sure, but you cant have to much ADs.
Im afraid I have to wholeheartedly disagree with you though. Need before greed is the best way. It ensures that players who will actually equip and use dropped items continue to grow stronger
No, the system in & of itself does *nothing* of the sort, because there is no way to ensure that people don't roll Need on every last thing that drops -- which is more likely to happen than otherwise.
The only system that works as you suggest is guild groups operating on previously agreed-upon guild rules.
Fare you well
