With any luck for my own sanity Red Sonja will stay away from Neverwinter.

But who knows, maybe the devs will be nice to the sillier crowd and add completely impractical armor. But do note D&D tends to be a more serious fantasy setting and is very much comparable to our own reality. Imagine our world with some magic tossed in. That's Faerun.

The same laws of physics apply unless magic interferes so if you are wearing a chainmail bikini in D&D rules you might as well be wearing nothing at all based on Third Edition Piecemeal Rules. Have fun at your funeral because you won't survive long. :p

that might be something to seriously think about had the OP not said "bikini fashion" and as we've already seen in game, wearing fashions (of any kind) while fighting doesn't hurt you at all.

Remember Alias of Azure Bonds. She didn't have a bikini on but she did have armour with an open midriff (from belt to neck) Yes it was magical and our armor in game is magical. So whats to stop having a bikini enchanted to be magical.

    +6 Smexy holy bikinis
    +600 Critical
    -100 Defense
    +100 recovery
2 set bonus - Grants Combat Advantage to allies

Honestly though, when they have already bikini skins ingame, why haven't they released bikini fashions?

Wizards will wear some very revealing armor pieces. Open Chested and one leg basically completely exposed due to a high riding slitted robe. Completely normal.

    Bikinis...?
I've read hundreds of FR Novels. Hundreds. Never a single bikini. Not Once. Not Ever.

It's pure silliness and in all honesty very immature. Ed Greenwood is probably about as far out there as it comes with creepy concepts in FR and he's never had a character run around in a chainmail bikini.

He's had Elminster run around naked and change into a girl for some ten odd years because it got him closer to nature. Elminster also had a child with a song dragon. At the end of the book you find out every main female character in the book is one of Elminster's daughters including one of Elminster's daughters' daughter. Just think about the implications of that relationship for a second...

And yet we have no bikinis to be found.

Yeah, I will always vote to leave Red Sonja a safe ten and a half foot pole away. :p

Cortesan top and jester bottom...there you go a bikini with strange boots.
then again the jester or courtesan top and nothing else is very bakinilike as well
in my signature Kalyca is wearing jester top.

also there are several bare middrift high end armors in the game half the mage t1 armors for example are nearly bare middrift, also the lloth armors are bare middrift as well. the noble finery/mask regalia (on snowrose in sig) tops on girls have a laced middrift and it makes a rather good swimsuit if paired with no bottoms or scant bottoms (jester)

why does it have to be a female wearing the bikini?

with a male, since there's nothing up top that needs holding in place, we can have just a kini... even more to stare at

Just imagine a big beefy fighter in it.:D

Please note : In a game I ran, I hit them with a cursed(sort of) item. Black lace teddy + 5
to the wearer it looked like normal plate mail and acted like it.

to everyone else- all other clothing invisible and a black lace teddy. The little frilly top and underwear.
yes I am evil as a GM.
    on the chain mail bikini.
One of my friends made a set for another friend for a costume comp at Swancon, It was fully lined. You cannot wear it with nothing under.

Bikinis? No thanks. There are so many things wrong with the sentence "bikinis in battle" that I don't even know where to begin. If all you want is to look at sexy women in bikinis, there's a thing called the internet. You might have heard of it? Please leave the game alone. It's sexist enough as it is, thanks.

oh you teenagers and your raging hormones >.<

if you want to see half or all naked pixels running around go to one of those adult sites. there's lots of veteran gamers here, and by that i mean 1, they have full lives complete with family (who also play) and 2. literally thousands of logged hours in gameplay and experience. they're here for that.

on the other hand its nice when we can get "fashion" pieces people like to wear, and currently, the attractive aspects of them are severely lacking, both for the guys AND ladies. the guys want to look manly in their "street" gear, and the gals, altho fiercely competitive, wouldn't mind something more...um....club dance worthy.

I actually like most of the armor design. What I would like to see though is the ability to disable visuals on the shirt and pants.

I would actually say old school dnd introduced chainmail bikinis to anime not the other way around, do you not remember old art for the early editions?

Anime? You mean like Red Sonja and a good chunk of the artwork in classic D&D books?

Not saying the chain mail bikini is a good idea mind you, just that you can't really blame Japan for that one.

Then again maybe some kind of Barbarian costume pack wouldn't be too bad to "get it out of their system". On women it could look like the classic Red Sonja chain bikini or soemthing and on guys be a He-Man style fur speedo and chest straps for the top.

R/L precident for naked fighting existed in the Picts 2000 years ago who fought battles naked and fearless or wearing wode. They won most of the time too, as did the Spartans so I don't think anything is really too out there. Doing this tastefully without pandering to purile male egos and sniggering adolescents without fuelling pre existing prejudicial and exploitative views of females is another thing.

I do agree with lady mythos though, there are already a lot of naked female avatars running around in PvP along with apparently a glitch someone found to randomly change the avatar skin at the character screen . The advertisement for this was the male gamer showing how he made a 'naked female' avatar.

At least wait till any time other than winter :P People already run around naked in pvp so I don't see why they shouldn't add it.

Most of the female armor sets in the game are pretty revealing. It's just that Fighters and Cleric shirts don't have the bare midriff while Wizard and Rogue shirts do. There was something coming for crafting in Module 2 about new shirts. I haven't seen details but I'd guess it relates to making shirts that are more/less covering than the current models.

I'm looking forward to the new undershirts for wizard and rogue females, the current armor it's just.. well in other games that have the skimpy armor it at least looks like it's supposed to be skimpy here a lot of them just have random holes in the side or something, my Rogue spent a good chunk of her level 40's and 50's looking like she stole her armor from a shark attack victim or something
