I'm sure this is not an original idea, but I think it would do wonders for end-game pve.. What if there is a pit-fight-style skirmish where each round is more difficult than the last, if you die you're out, and there is no 'end boss' or finish line? Minimal rewards, if any - the only real goal would be to see how many (clearly numbered) rounds your team can survive..
I think this would be great fun, whether it's fresh 60s looking to improve team dynamics or uber-geared guilds bored of farming top dungeons and looking for something to brag about..
