What class do you guys like and why? I'm looking at both right now both seem amazing to me (still new to the game) and I wanna try one out what are the pros and coins to each class?
With the coming changes for MOD 2. Do not roll a GF and go GWF. GWF will have all of the bonus's of a GF + the Damage of GWF. As of MOD 2 GF's are going to be pretty low priority on teams.

There is no way you will regret GWF in the upcoming next major patch. Almost all the advantages of GF plus their own strengths. In the meantime, GF's (who have already been nerfed on Preview) will be slapped silly by changes due to their new fusion with GWF paragons.

GWF's seem a lot more fun to play. I have two level 60 GWF's but i haven't gotten past level 45 with a GF yet.
It depends on how you like to play.
GWF: Fast paced, High damage, Lots of utility, Good survival, Sprint.
GF: Slow paced, Medium damage, Some utility, Excellent survival, Blocks with shield.

Werealchemist laid out the basics for you, and Mod 2 changes things. For me, I enjoyed (and continue to enjoy) my GF much more than my GWF particularly as the GF is for me much an great all-around utility player than a GWF is. I've played both Sentinel and Destroyer GWF's and enjoyed them, and all three specs for GF but I keep coming back to my Conqueror GF. Hits hard, can take a ridiculous beating, and holds aggro for the entire group. Still lumbers along, but once you get the hang of moving a GF in combat it changes the game entirely.

Well I like fast strikes with defense and an aoe or 2 at my disposal id like to be as useful to a party as possible but solo if need too.
Either can fulfill that role.
The GWF is slightly more AoE-centric than the GF, but both have the ability to hit multiple targets with several attacks.
Being useful in a party is a lot about what that party needs and playing well together. Biggest challenge for both tends to be when they are played like something they are not.

beleave me: GF is dying. It is:
-literally hated by devps
-for any problem in the game their solution is: nerf GF
-it is full of bugs for months and no actions are taken to fix them
- it has excelent survival only if you sacrify everything else and deal very low damage.-
- conqueror spec can deal medium (usrless in t2 dungeon) damage but loosing much survival
- is the most nerfed class,
- is the slowest class in movimet (doesn't have any power to avoid attacks or run out red areas)
- is the slowest class in attack (powers have so slow animatios that you can die before the attack is done)-
- has the worse gear
- has a shield that last 1 second in any t2 dungeons, often dont respond to user input and dont block at all, dont block cc
- has many of its power bugged, many that dont proc enchants or talent, many if not all in the devps "nerfing list"
and so on and so on but now i'm tired...
Roll a GWF. Don't be unlucky like us GF and, most important, dont belirve the ppl that write that GF is strong and cool, and not bugged, they are cryptic fanboy.

Yeah thats their thing but the GWF has a couple shouts that do the same thing, and does it just as well.
gwf cant tank trash,have lovest chance to get team in queue,have 20k hp if dps focused, got none good team buffs
gf can easy tank as dps,do the same if not more dps then gwf,prone lock ppl in pvp but gwf will be able to do it to with module 2,got nice team buff,a lot harder to kill in pvp if dps focused
so in the end if u play pve u should take gf i see a lot of spams looking for gf why never any for gwf and gf get team soon it queue
while for pvp gf is a lot better atm but with new update gwf should be the same as gf or a bit better but this wont last to long they stealth nerf gwf very fast like they always do they allredy nerfed one changed stuff on it deep gash now do 30 % or less dps with encounters and on one at will
Take for example karrudax (one dungeon complicated epic level ) .
At the time of the beta , because of the endless amount of adds , beat the sub boss in his terrain was very difficult , so we had a habit of pulling them away from the respawn area .
At this time any dps did relatively well built and their role , and gf shone especially against the final boss , since there existed no escape but to face the crowd (which at the time was very strong ) .
At the end of the beta / start module 1 , it became " impossible " pull sub bosses , and must stop direct combat with them . To compensate, the game's difficulty seems to have been diminished .
As some of these bosses remained difficult , we begin to explore all the glitches and bugs , which generally benefit ranged attack . And as the difficulty of the game itself was reduced - do not know if it continues - the common enemies posed no threat to most classes of little resistance , being the gwf / gf expendable ( as defenders ) .
To make matters worse , the cw has become indispensable in pve , since their skills were improved for pvp ( gwf suffered the opposite effect . To balance it in pvp , the "destroyed " in pve ) .
Module 2 - gwf have your damage / threat increased satisfactorily ( also swordmaster , do not know why underestimate since ... for now , forget it. ) Gf I do not know ... With several recent nerfs to cw , is capable of gf again be an alternative to control crowds .
In any case , both classes are critical as a function of pvp . So any choice is a gamble.

this change is current for pve/module2?
yeah dps on gash from encounters a lot weaker in pve on mobs then before it used to be 1.7-1.9k from not so fast now is 1.3k wicked strike only 580 but used to be 900+
Ramza 1816, a tip: leave the game. disregard for the consumer is incredible. the great "card" class that would bring the players back and give the feeling of high damage - we never had - has been censored without even have been advised.
And this sums "never winter" and the role of the fighters after the beta.
anyway ... I will first test and give a vote of confidence the devs, and if you're right, report as bug. "they do not harm the gwf without telling us first."

My GWF can tank trash in any dungeon. Idk what you're talking about. But I'm heavily geared, if that makes a difference.
@OP Basically if you want to be more useful, you should roll a GWF, with the new paragon paths, GF's won't be as useful because Swordmaster SUCKS compared to Iron Vanguard. Both are fun in PvP though, if you really like PvP, I suggest you just make both and try them out. I enjoy GF a little more than my GWF in PvP, but that's because Frontline Surge is so cool. (GWF's get surge in mod2)

Not sure if this guy has ever played a GWF. 1 abiity gives you a ridiculous amount of tankability Daring Shout.
Using this one ability i can tank just as good as a good GF and better than any average one. Play it with Weapon Master using the Master at Arms feat (grants 1/1.5/2/2.5/3% Deflect Chance, and having Weapon Master slotted increases your AC by 1/2/3/4/5.) and Bravery use Weapon Master Strike and either Sure Strike(single target) or Reaping Strike (AoE) for your At-Wills and Restoring strike [feated-Increases the effectiveness of your Defense stat by 20% and causes Restoring Strike to Heal an additional 50% over 3 seconds.]
Then tank like a beast because you will have Unstoppable up every 5 seconds.
Slot for Hit Points and Deflect
Edit: also Con and DEX are the primary attributes for this setup

Do we play the same game sir?I would gladly take you on a tour of a dungeon of your choice, so you can see how a proper Guardian Fighter ( conqueror specced) should play.Because one of 2 options: You are either undergeared, or in desperate need of play better.
just test the bleed us dummies (the patch downloaded just now) ... My bleed remains strictly equal; 1434/sec with reaping strike/1857/3 stacks destroyer.
The WMS also remains the same; 872 3 stacks.
I have no feedback from my encounters, the lbs seemed high (+2000/0 stacks).
you must have mistaken the damage stacks with different or may have happened also certain enemies dread ring have over 24k armor (I had already seen it)
can also have finished the campifire bonus (now bleed is based on strength). my reaping strike 3 stacks down to 1840/sec.
If you are not destroyer / sword master, test again under these circumstances. if the thing is even worsened, reporting.
test on mobs in sharandar or new zone u will see huge damage reduction in deep gash before was not like this and only deep gash from sure strike dose not hit a lot weaker on mobs now
Those who said we GWF can tank like GF or even better are idiots, yes, i can solo facetankheal and i can even be tankier than most GF but that doesnt mean i can do it better than the GF, until GWF given a real taunt skill or can generate more threat than any other class (cw,tr and now hunter), gf will always do a better job.

If your teamates are low level, you can keep the adds, but the moment you lost one of them or got prone you will lose the threat and the adds will attack your teamates and since they are lowbie, some will die, Is that a good tank? NO. (yep you are a good tank, you kill the rest of the adds while your 4 teamates respawn on CF)
If your teamates are high level, you can't out generate their threat and what leaves you, you will be all over the place trying to get the adds of them while they run around avoiding it, you are following the adds who follows them. Is that a good tank? NO.
GF is mostly used by lowbie party.
GWF is mostly used by Highlevel party.

LOL! I wanted to be a melee player after leveling a Cleric. I chose a GF because the GWF was considered ''dead'' and now I see in this thread that the GF may well be on the road to dying.
PSA: You don't need to grind Spinward Rise for your Elemental artifact main hand if you have some AD lying around. You can craft it via the Tyranny of Dragon's campaign screen.

you dont have a choice in lfg/pug party (specially when you are a gwf), you can either have awesome ppl or new ppl. LOL, you should try joining pug party once in a while your close friend and guild has make you out of touch of reality.

I pug all the time. I solo'd last boss in karr the other day... lol... then again, the last boss in karr is probably one of the easiest. l0l

Oh yeah... Before any accusations get thrown out. I'm F2P, pugged all T2's for gear, only time I do full guild runs is when I farm CN. I pug MC as well.

You'll get better eventually, GWF's have wayy too much potential to be underestimated. Though I can agree we need some fixing for PvE, we don't do what we're suppose to do. But compared to GF's I believe they're much much better in any scenario. Though I'm tempted to bring my GF + KC set for CN to see how fast we can burn him.
Nice achievements on those dungeons btw, I don't do T2's much anymore, but I'd like to try soloing more stuff. Last thing I've done was duo last boss in MC, slam routine, but I stopped running MC after I got my fabled fomorian weapon set. For GWF's, most bosses are doable solo, especially if the ads aren't too strong, like wights and spikers.

You'll get better eventually, GWF's have wayy too much potential to be underestimated. Though I can agree we need some fixing for PvE, we don't do what we're suppose to do. But compared to GF's I believe they're much much better in any scenario. Though I'm tempted to bring my GF + KC set for CN to see how fast we can burn him.
Nice achievements on those dungeons btw, I don't do T2's much anymore, but I'd like to try soloing more stuff. Last thing I've done was duo last boss in MC, slam routine, but I stopped running MC after I got my fabled fomorian weapon set. For GWF's, most bosses are doable solo, especially if the ads aren't too strong, like wights and spikers.
