Is HotN or Guardian worth their prices?

Just looking for opinions. Might purchase one of them...from what I can tell, the biggest differences are the # of Astral Diamonds and a cooler looking mount.

Just looking for others' opinions on the 2.

If you are going to get one of the packs, I would consider either the Guardian or the Feywild pack, but not the HoTN. Not enough gain for the extra $140.

This gets asked a lot. Some things to consider. We really can't answer it for you though. Because its value depends on you.

Do you already have an account-wide mount? Do you want the account-wide companion? Do the little things (character slots, bag of holding, fashion gear, etc...) have any value for you? Do you have another use for the AD that comes with it? How much do you want the things in the pack. That's the kind of stuff that determines if its worth it or not.

My opinion is that the Spider Mount in the HOTN pack is really cool. But I don't need any of the other stuff. At this point I already have an account-wide mount. And all the characters I actually play have companions. So $200 to get a mount, just for its looks is kind of excessive. Until I have a lot more disposable income (or if they put it up for sale for Zen), I'm passing on it.

The other pack, while cheaper, has nothing in it I want or need. So I don't see myself ever getting it.

Like they said, it's your money and only you know how valuable the contents of each pack are to you.

I feel like I got more value out of the feywild pack, though I do have a lot of dark elf characters. The 2 million AD was handy though before the DD loot went BoP. I like the sylph companion a lot more than the panther (because the panther spends most of the fight just staring at the enemy thinking about pouncing on them).

If I was you then I would wait a few weeks and see what pack is released with module 2 , you could buy a pack now only to see a better pack released for the same amount of money in a few weeks.

To almost answer the question asked, I would say value wise the Guardian pack is best. I am considering it myself. The Feywild pack is fine, but while I love unicorns as much as the next fantasy fan, they don't gel will with my Neverwinter characters. Also, since most companions do peanuts damage anyway, I'd rather have a tank-lite companion than a tissue paper peashooter.

I think almost nothing in the Zen store or anything among the packs is worth what they are currently priced at. But in terms of relative value, Guardian beats Hero.

I have all three packs: Hero of the North, Guardian of Neverwinter, and Knight of the Feywild. I see them as a long-term investment into D&D video games. Basically, if Neverwinter Online is successful, it will open the way for future D&D video games, maybe even D&D Next video games, kind of like how the Infinity Engine games paved the way for 2e and 3e video games, including the Neverwinter Nights CRPG series.

However, you should only buy these packs if you can afford them. I had the money then, and I had no outstanding debts to pay, so I sunk the cash into Neverwinter Online.
