As predicted we have hordes of players on large mounts camping the event vendor and making it hard to impossible to visit the store. I don't understand why a simple auto dismount for all vendors and the auction house feature isn't implemented the only people it would effect is griefers. Saying you can click through isn't relevant because if enough people gather around the vendors you can't simple as that.
Simple quality of life things like this seem to insurmountable to cryptic and it boggles my mind.
You can click through people to interact with the vendors.
Wow..didn't even read the post did you?
If enough people on large mounts gather around you can't, there has been many posts made about this even a couple videos made demonstrating it. And a simple auto dismount feature would solve it.

Would have took you less time if you pressed M and checked for the least populated instance and changed to it, than writing this post.
Also hiding players names/HP bars/ Shield Bars from UI, helps.
What would also help with this event is if they turned down the max size in PE. I would prefer it being a permanent decrease in the population size.
Yep agreed on the one hand I laugh because all these people playing pretty much gives the finger to "The game is dying" crowd but i presents it's own issues as well.
Dismounting is not useful. It cost then more time to go out of the dismounting area for mounting as searching the vendor itself.
I assumed OP meant that pressing F to interact with vendor would be the auto-dismount -- if that were the case there would be no need to worry about getting out of the dismounting area.

Just FYI, this has been discussed internally. No idea what the status of that is, what they might decide to do, or when...but it is at least known about.

Or place more than 1 contact, and spread them out a bit.

What I want to know is:
Why is it that we can perform the complexities needed to fuse enchantments without getting dismounted... yet we can't uncork a bottle and down a potion without "falling" off the horse/mount XD

Simple gameplay balancing mechanic. Some classes can escape faster than others. Being able to just run, creating a gap, mount up, escaping even faster while drink potions is obviously imbalanced. Hence, potion drinking counts as a combat action and you are therefore dismounted.
I haven't tried the new events, exam time, but I did do a quick run around last night checking out the Halloween aesthetics and the queuing around the event contact was mad. I was running up the stairs and just saw a mass like I've never seen. Those giant Sylvan Stags don't help either.
Isn't there an auto-dismount feature when you got to Rhix? Could be easily coded into new events when there is bound to be a surge of players around one NPC.
PSA: You don't need to grind Spinward Rise for your Elemental artifact main hand if you have some AD lying around. You can craft it via the Tyranny of Dragon's campaign screen.
I have to agree with the OP. It is a pain when there are alot of players standing on top of the vendors. I always turn off names and it is still hard to click the vendor as there are times when you hit F to talk and someone gets in the way and you get the menu for the player.
They just need to place more vendors. 5 Vendors all over the city for such events would be ok. Also they should change the default buttons for interacting with NPCs and loot and with players. You happen to always open the menu to talk to a player.
Let's call this what it is, and the name is Laziness. You see this at the bank also, were you have to find a good angle to reach the banker. The no-mount zone is feasible since they have on around the daily mission Kobold.
I have the Q key, other than #6, binded for mount. I hate the wasd key mapping, and use the esdf; I slide the movement keys one over. This gives me a more natural feel and can map the Q key for easy quick access, and fast mount/dismount.
Before I forget, quest givers also need a no-mount zone.

As soon as you activate the world map you dismount. Even if you end up not going anywhere. "In theory" you'd think it would be as simple as taking that bit of code and applying it to vendors. But hey I'm no developer so it's probably a bit more complicated than that.

ummmm what?
That makes zero sense.

Tried it least populated area is still jammed packed..we don't need workarounds actually resolving the issue would be better.

But this has nothing to do with the thread topic.
