Dark Fey Enclave - cannot target enemies

In several instances in the Dark Fey Enclave I have encountered enemies, redcap Thorns and Powries, that the system will not let you target but same enemies have no problem dealing damage to character. System says that the enemy is not a valid target. Only thing to do is run away and hope they move into an area where you will be allowed to target them or to die.
