Just played another quest where the encounters felt unbalanced for solo play and then there were also rooms that included an interactable informing that the following room was very tough and designed for group play. A number of us build difficulty selectors into our quests but I wonder how many people actually play with others in the foundry?
Are we building in encounters for non existant groups?

From what I've seen, there are a lot of people that like to play with at least one or two friends pretty often.... Even if they are playing solo quests.

The difficulty for solo is very varied. While many enjoy having a challenge, some don't. And then you have different classes, and levels. There are a lot to think about when attempting to balance a foundry, but also quite many different ways to do it. Since encounters vary so much from one another in terms of strength and abilities.
Most of the time I am solo, but every once in awhile I convince my boyfriend to run with me. I would say 90% of the time I am running these quests solo.

I'm always solo, and I try to design my quests around solo combat that shouldn't require potions. For 'difficulty' I usually shoot for endurance. Like three waves, standard/easy/standard, each spawning immediately after the previous was killed.
In my latest quest I included an area that could be very challenging but made it optional and put up a warning. I'll be doing more of that in the future, along with providing difficulty settings.

Only after voting did I realize I could have selected more than one option, Doh!
I mostly duo but solo and 3 are pretty common depending on who from my guild is online. I specifically avoid quests that say "group advised" unless they also say solo/cleric mode available.
I also really like it when a quest has re-selectable difficulty, that is, if I try "hard" and am dying I can go back and switch to "easy" or take the long way around and avoid the fight.

I play solo most of the time, few times i go on duo and in extremely rare cases i can go with two friends.
Well the difficulty also depends on the character I am on... for example on DC a foundry takes 15min and on CW the same quest takes 8min... because DC just does not have the destructive power CW has. Anyway, most of the time I solo (group only when a friend needs a hand).

I chose them all , though Part 4 of Brethren of Five will be balanced for all classes to do Solo. (Normal) For the party difficulty many things will change, including npcs. It's overly complicated though so I wouldn't advice anyone to do this on a large scale. (5 second freezes everytime I poke anything.)

I chose them all as well because they all apply. If I am running someones quest that asked for critique, I HAVE to play alone because I need to concentrate on the big picture and check spelling etc. When we were running the 'For Review' quests for the achievement, Izatar and I usually played as a group of 2. (Which still bugged out on getting credit. Sometimes one of us would get credit and the other wouldn't etc.)
For pure enjoyment purposes we usually play in a group of 4, sometimes 5, sometimes 3.
By the poll results so far it looks solo or in pairs is still played alot more than larger groups.
Which to be honest was my initial thoughts. Hopefully in the future there might be ways to tag these so that we can create quests that appear in three different catogories. Solo, Three players and Full groups. It woul dbe so much easier and we would get less comments on balancing if we designed to suit those numbers specifically.
