Dying Weapons?

I've seen a few people have their weapons dyed here and there, but when I try to it, it says that I can't dye weapons. Is it possible that this is a bug in the game or that there is going to soon be some sort of patch that will allow the dying of weapons? In the past, how was someone able to dye their weapon? Just by pure luck?

    Are you sure that the weapons were dyed?There are enchantments that can change the way your weapon look

    I could tell you how but it would just get deleted by a moderator.

    Yes, I am certain. I know that some enchantments give special effects to weapons, but this had the "has been dyed" text on the weapon and it had different colours as well.

    ^This. Seriously. I saw a thread a while back that explained how. The method discussed involved a glitch. So even though it seems harmless I'm pretty sure its against the rules to say how. Would be neat if they just made it a feature.

    I will give you a link to another thread though. Where others are trying to figure it out. Since they didn't delete that one, maybe its not against the rules. Who knows.

    Am I misunderstanding something?

    I dyed my sword the same way I did my armor. (With the dye I got from the game in the beginning). I didn't have a preview, though.

    How? Did you not get the message "weapons aren't allowed to be dyed" or something like that?

    I don't get it either. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Wish they'd fix it so you could all the time.

    No, so I was wondering whether they might be talking about something else. But I see runebane has edited in a link, so I understand now.

    Too bad I used the start dye I got from the game randomly to test it out if it wont work another time.

    I used to be able to dye weapons freely, but now I'm only able to dye one weapon every time they patch the game. I don't know why, but it just happens. After that one instance of dyeing, I'm unable to dye any more weapons until the next patch.

    I've tried it long before you posted it. I can only dye once per patch, now.
