Finger of God - Mine's Mine by @jaggeropth
Short Code:
NW-DTPUNXUAB
Mission Type:
Dungeon Crawl
Average Duration:
35min
Amount of Combat:
100% Major battles (with some minor side tasks just because) - and you get to blow stuff up as well, although not part of a battle, working on that one.
Starts At:
Cragsford (Silver Mine Entrance)
Mission Summary:
The dwarves have returned to clean house! The dwarves held rule over Mount Nevermind and the majority of the Cragg Moutains but a long war with the Drow drew them away from the surface allowing the lesser races to move in and claim their lands. To re-establish relations with the humans, the dwarves have stretegically selected a series of contact points; the Silver Mines of Cragsford is one such location. As luck would have it, a group of brave adventurers is about to join the dwarves in their cleanup efforts in exchange for passage through the mines.
Author tips/hints: This is the second of four quests in the Finger of God campaign (see my sig. below). All are geared to be tough but not impossible to solo provided you come prepared (bring plenty of potions).

If a tree falls in a virtual forest, how big is the sound file?

This is one of my favourite maps in the game, which took me by surprise as I usually favour outdoor terrain.

Did you build this all yourself jaggeropth? I didn't recognise it as anything I have seen before. Like the previous map in your series (Cragsford), it has a completely unique feel while still in keeping with the NWO world (and the campaign itself).

Yes, I try to take the map away from what it was (and recognizable) to something unique. Having formal training in Architecture and Landscape Architecture certain helps me attain the "look and feel" I'm going for. :) I usually roam the empty map a while and imagine many different adventures within it. Then ultimately one will "take over" as the dominant "best fit" for the terrain. My best example of that is probably our Guild Hall. Originally only intended as a rough example of a guild hall and member housing area, it evolved into what it is today, a full blown quest. Parts of it can be quite nasty though so be very careful (slight spoiler). If you loved the lighting and atmosphere of the campaign quest maps, you're going to really like this one. I didn't want to post it yet until all my guild members had had a chance to comment and provide input. We're a very small guild so most of the comments tended towards the quest itself although I get the sense they liked the hall and housing area. If you don't want to bother with the quest, just head out of the dig site towards the river and follow the road to the left, although there are some things in the guild area you won't be able to trigger without doing the full quest. Here's the short code (enjoy): NW-DKU866DBG (Quel Fera valley) - Oh, "Quel Fera" is elvish for "Happy Hunting".
