How to hide the campfire ring?

I have noticed that in some quests, the authors have managed to hide the blue magical ring that is around the respawn campfire...

I spent a little while trying to find out how to do it, and even played with it for a bit to no avail.

Anyone know how this is done?

I have never seen that done I don't think. The only thing that I can think of is to maybe sink it down a little below the ground and then add a floor piece or some rocks to cover it up. I am not sure really. I never really thought about it before. :) Good question.

    See, here, no campfire ring.

Tried covering it with rocks, myself. When you do that, the ring just appears on top of the rocks.

Sinking it into the ground also just hides the flame, but the ring stayed. :(
If you sink it too far into the ground...as far as I could tell, the ring goes away, but so does the entire point of having the campfire there...well, the healing at least..I wasn't able to test what happened on death.

Doesn't that somewhat defeat the point of having a healing/respawn campfire in the first place?

    What he said.

I'm looking to pretty up the one that is not only pretty much mandatory but very useful for the healing spot.

Haven't seen or tried this... But couldn't you lower the Y value of the respawn point just below the terrain so that it doesn't show up?

No. The fire disappears or sticks halfway out, and the ring stays. I know because I had a problem with a respawn campfire that wouldn't, no matter what I did, appear the way it was supposed to. Always anywhere from slightly to fully buried. The ring itself always showed, though!

That's what I did in dwarven tale though not really sure the ring is hidden. I think it is, only the glimmering things in the air is visible.

Maybe it was only in my cave map that it showed the rings, no matter how far up or down I put the settings. If it could work by burying the fire, I do know that when you place a campfire on top of the other one, it turns blue-ish like the regular respawn campfires.

I've not tried this in any other map (I'm sort of nonchalant on the campfire thing).

Probably just a visual bug. It might have to do with what terrain it's placed on.

I can tell you that cyrptics campfires change from having rings to no rings so either it's by time of day (hehe) or a visual bug I am guessing.

P.S. Never put the campfire inside a furnace to hide it... Nothing like being stuck inside a furnace when you die :P (Yeah, I have seen this)

I have a respawn fire that I built a small rock wall around in my crypt trying to make it look more like a shrine fire. I used a twenty foot catsle wall round corner and shoved it into the ground so little under a foot sticks up (x4). even tho it was slightly larger then the ring the ring has since vanashed.
