Hello all. I'm new at Neverwinter. Played the BETA for the last 10 days or so before it went "Released"(gold). I'm your typical PVE player who likes to take my time and play alone mostly. I've done a PVE, Skirmish and a couple dungeon quests in a party just to see what it was like, but otherwise prefer solo. What I'm really not feeling is a sense of adventure nor the need to buy any upgraded equipment. As far as adventure goes, I'm not getting the "Exploring" feeling from the game. To me it feels very boxed in, and seems like there is nothing new to find. I suppose i miss the wondering around and finding dungeons to explore and the open world. Is that just the way it is, or does the game open up later as Ievel up? Again, I'm asking from a SOLO perspective.
Equipment/Armour.. Everything I've picked up from drops thus far has been fine in my short solo career. The only time I've died is in PVE and once in a Dungeon. Out on my own seems to easy. I just dont feel a sense of need For Diamonds to buy better equipment because I'm making it on my own just by carrying 1/2 dozen health potions around with me. Does this factor change as I level up?
Again, I'm only a Lvl15 GWF playing solo mostly.
This game is extremely liniar.
Zones are very restricted and the majority of them are just one path from start to finish.
The major questlines in the zones don't even take place in the open world, they're instanced.
Neverwinter may have some nice things, but its Open World aspect is definitely a step back.
There is no exploration or alternative choices when it comes to the world of Neverwinter.
The quests themselves are also very generic.
Having a liniar experience wouldn't bother me so much if the questing was enjoyable, but its as generic as quests get.
Loot stuff, kill stuff, interact with shiny objects and NPCs. Thats it.
