Gauntlgrym phase 2 exploit

during phase 2 it seems that if your side completes the pve objectives first and the game declares your faction as the winners of those 2 mini events and hands you the bonuses in the pvp side that the enemy faction can still complete them after its over to gain credit for these events. this caused my faction in gauntlgrym to lose out on being able to run the t2 dungeon at the end since them flipping those 2 events after we had won it caused them to win the overall event even though my side had won everything including the pvp match. i am on the luskar corsair's side on beholder.

another thing that im hearing about it is many of the pve phase 2 players on my side were mass disconnected which might have led to them losing all contribution toward the even which might have been the reason for the events flipping the winner to the other side

i'm unsure if this was an intended way for phase 2 to be handled but with the fact that the slower team is 100% guaranteed to win the entire event overall makes me feel this event is worthless for doing as a guild/alliance event since it would mean the more organized side is punished for being able to accomplish the objectives in phase 2 in a timely manner.

I posted this in the general discussion forum. This is such a major flaw that I can't believe it hasn't been addressed yet. It is literally game breaking.

I'm not sure if this explains the issue you're seeing but...

All phases of Gauntlgrym determine the winners by combining the results across the whole shard. So, you may have won your particular PVP match, but if the rest of your faction failed across the rest of the shard, your faction wills till lose a phase.

A player's contribution in a phase is stored on the server, not on their particular character. So, even if they get disconnected, their previous contributions will still count toward the communal success.

My understanding of the PVE in Phase 2 is that after 10 minutes, (I think it's 10 minutes) the catapults phase results are tallied. Whichever faction (across the whole shard) completed more catapults and gave them boulders wins that phase, and gives their PVP faction buddies the benefit (hopefully it's flaming boulders of death, but I didn't do the PVP to see it). After 20 minutes, the food and dwarven idols results are tallied, and the winning faction of that task gets an angry smashing giant buddy named Amusud to help them in the PVP. Even if your faction wins BOTH of these PVE challenges, you might still LOSE more of the PVP matches, making your faction LOSE phase 2 overall. The winning faction of Phase 2 gets access to the Dwarf King Crypts (Tier 2 dungeon).

At least, that's how I interpreted what I saw and have read about it.

that's not what happened though my side had won both the catapults and the giant but further into phase 2 it changed it from saying that the corsair's won it to saying the other team did which also flipped the progress bar at the top from about 65:35 to 35:65 in their favor.this was before the pvp match had even ended which makes winning or losing the pvp matches not even a factor in this even though they might play a factor after that. if it was just multiple groups of pvp match losses causing the phase 2 loss which cost us the t2 dungeon it would have been ok but the fact that the pve events from phase 2 changed who won after they had been saying corsair's win for at least 10min is what the problem was. we even had the giant helping us in pvp which only occurs if you win the giants aid from the pve.

This is an exploit, and confirmed to be working on Dragon shard as well.
How Cryptic trolls the entire NWO playerbase: 9200 GS listed for CN, implying anyone who needs more has no skill.

^Unless the other instances some how had their phases about 10 minutes behind mine and they all lost then this is correct. Was so sad seeing all the blue turn to red and then getting a ****ty dungeon. Wasn't sure if the constant d/c had a part to play in the winning side switch but the whole event was quite a let down.

From what I can see the test realm really doesn't get enough use to help with this though, every time I went there to try new content or a change in a dungeon there was no one, test realm is great but redundant if its just sitting there looking pretty, maybe they need some sort or incentive for it or even an incentive based weekend for events like Gaunt so there is an actual player base using it before the game is "live"

So far, the best solution I've seen is to AFK the whole event. Whether you win or lose is more random than a lockbox.
