Perfecting Postal Usage.

By now most of you will have found the post office and the wonderful feature it contains, whereby we are able to store and share things with our alts.

My method, which I guess would be similar to the ones you use, is as follows.

For runes I attach them to messages, (in order, 1 - 5, because I am OCD that way) and then when either my main guy or one of my alts comes back from a run, I head to the PO and open my messages and my inventory side by side.

Then I click sort on my bag that contains my runes, to line them up in order. I also make sure that I have at least five free slots for transfers and upgrades.

If you have at least one of each colour rune, then the last rune before the first empty slot will be the Training Rune. And the first rune at the top will be the Arcane rune.

Now moving to the message list, I will open the message containing my Training Runes and accept those runes into my inventory. These will be added to any Training Rune that I have already in my inventory. Next I will upgrade each rune that has 4 or more of the same kind, starting from the level 1 rune.

Personally I do not attempt to upgrade level 5 runes, without Ward stones, and I suggest that you do not do this as well.

Once I have upgraded all the Training runes, I click reply on the message that the Training Runes came from and re-attach the upgraded Runes to the message. A suggestion here would be to use an informative subject line for the message, so that you can easily see what the message will have attached without having to open the message.

I use the following as a subject line.

1 - Training Enhancement Rune.

The number 1 allows the messages to be order towards the top of all your messages, as these are the messages that you will be working with most of the time.

Other things I use the Post Office for is to share equipment between alternate companions. As you will also know each class has a unique ability to collect resources, which does not need a kit to work from. Such as a Thief character does not need a Thief Kit, or a Control Wizard does not need an Arcane Kit. Now if you find these kits, and do not need them, use the Post Office to give them to one of your alternates who can make use of them.

Yes, it is true most of you know this stuff already, but if you have anything else that you can add to using the Postal service better, feel free to add it below.

    *raises hand ...

    I have a question?

My question is ... where should we stand when we do this?

Forget about the herd of folk around the courier, rather watch your mouse point and find the black courier tip, hover over it until it turns "f' and then press F to start the process. Unless you are real hard core role player, and need to see the guy to get the full effect. That got really old for me very fast.

Remember collision detection is off in PE so you can have 47 people occupying the same tile and still manage to get you business done. (Be thankful for this feature of the game, because having collision detection on, would make the game much harder.)

Okay, lets say you are like me, a Chinese prisoner bot player, with 47 characters mining AD. How do you transfer all these Astral Diamonds from your alts to your main character. Sure most of you know this already, because you are sitting along side me in Pyong Pong Political Prison, but this is for everyone else who does not know.

Lets say your first alt character has made 3,500 AD and you want to transfer that to your main character. Follow these steps and it will happen.
Using your main character, the one that will receive all your AD, do the following.
Take a piece of junk armour, say a detailed scale pair of pants, and put it on auction with a buyout price of 3,500 AD. Starting price does not matter, but try and keep it very low. To save on handling fees.

Next change characters to your alt that has the 3,500 AD you want to transfer and search for the detailed scale pants which has a buy out of 3,500 AD and also has the seller name of your account.

Hit the buy out and the funds will be transferred, minus the auction fees which would be able 350 AD.

Do this after each daily run for all your alts and you will soon have enough AD to buy zen and keys for all those nightmare boxes you have in the bank.

Just use the AD Exchange Buy Zen to transfer your ADs, since it's Exchange Balance is account wide....
No losing ADs for handling fees and fiddling with alts.
But telling how it actually works would benefit the chinese miners, so you have to figure that out by yourself.

The problem with AD exchange is the exchange rate can change and if you leave the gap between buy and sell Zen/AD too long, you could stand to lose a lot. With the auction method, you know exactly what you will loose, and that never changes.

Ah yes but you can ensure that simply will not happen by asking for a ridiculous amount of zen in return when you post it. Then you simply switch to an alt on the same account, cancel the order, and withdraw the necessary AD/Zen!

In the highly highly unlikely event that the market moved so fast as to fill your order, then you come out winning anyway in that case. There is a limit of the AD/Zen you can ask for in your order I think.

Just ask for enough Zen at 50 AD each, no one is going to sell Zen that low, you pass on the AH cut this way and its more convenient. Helps especially when moving large sums of AD.

    Exactly.
And, with a Big IF on it, happens to accept your offer, you make HAMSTER load of Zen. Which is good.
And you can cancel the order right away, if you don't want to hop on alts.

The thing is, you will have to be hopping to alts, because they are the guys with the AD that you want to transfer to your main girl.

But I will have a look at the Z exchange thingy.

You do know you can cancel the order immediately on the character you are on and it puts the AD into the balance? right? no need to hop onto another account or anything. Takes 2 seconds and its done...

Yes, just tested the Z thingy. Works like a bought one.

Sort of interested in making a how to, with pictures and dancing girls for this.

i would use the exchange. all you have to do is make an insanely low bid for zen. log into your other character. cancel the transaction. boom, you've transferred AD.

add: it would be nice if we could deposit AD into the exchange without having to make a trade offer first. if the devs are listening.
