Even of sudden fixes on some of the spells and feats on the CWs, rogues will still be the best DPS class in the game. I am sad to say this, but they got buffed up. Until they release arcane and ice paragon classes for CWs, rogues will be the highest DPS class in the game.

from what ive seen rogues have the highest dps.
cw second, closely followed by GF on AoE fights.
i have yet to see a GWF do more dmg than the above classes

this is going by the built in damage parsing.

For average players, GWF will be on par with CW, and GF will quite often outperform them both. For good players, CW and Rogue will normally outperform GWF in everything but boss fights. CW due to their knockback and superior throw them over the edge skills. Rogue because they actually do damage.

As the recent patch came out, I have yet run enough pugs to really say how much it has affected dps values yet during pugging situations. Given a reasonable players, GWF will stay on par with most of the dps classes during boss fights, but fall behind during the trash / dungeon sections, provided CW's give them enough time to generate AP/determination before the mobs get placed out of the dps range of the GWF.

As I have only had enough time to run 1 delve on my lvl 60, I can only say that my GWF produced 1 million more damage then the next highest, a CW.

The other 2 runs were with my lowbie GWF running cloak tower on normal. Once at lvl 17, and another at lvl 19. Rogue outperformed on the first run by maybe 5%. Second run, if you added second and 3rd place in damage, then you would have my score, as top dealer. GWF can outperform like usual until roughly lvl 25 or so. At that point, the rogue abilities start scaling huge dps, and without the AD/zen to compensate; will likely stay stuck at 2nd or 3rd place in dps until you start running epics.

(and to be clear about it, I'm currently running 10.6k gear score with no good enchants.)

Really does depend on situation: Horde of minions? GWF or a DPS-specced GF generally rules unless there is a convenient cliff for a CW to fling them off.
Small groups of elites? the TR starts catching up.
Single target with enough health to require long-term beating? TR will have highest DPS.

Since the patch was putted on, I found 1 particular spell that wasnt working as intended before, to do 15k AOE dmg to targets in 5ft radius around the inicial target. Combine it with Steal Time and one more AOE spell + shield pop and you will have tons of dmg over 3 seconds to mobs around you. GWF are doing great dmg but cant compare to the usefullness and AOEs that CWs have. Rogues are a single target executioners. Thet do alot of dmg to one target. That is my conclusion. In raids, all you need a GF is to keep the aggro away from CWs cause even with thread decreasing feat, I can take the aggro on everything I want with 1-2 spells. If its a boss, I am as good as dead or running around the room as a chicken trying to save my life :D

I think you guys are kinda missing the point of the roles here....

CW yes does very good AOE damage, and so does GWF (sometimes depending on the player even better than CW, but again depends player to player). But neither are meant to be solely damage dealers. CW is called CONTROL Wizard for a reason. They are meant to be used to root, stun, etc while doing damage. While GWF now does respectable damage, its role is to be an off tank and to try to hold aggro on the trash mobs so that the GF can tank the boss. It's not all about "ZOMG lets all see who does the most l33t awesomeness damages!". There are roles in mmo's for a reason. All designed for different tasks so a group can overcome obstacles in there way on dungeon runs. Right now you have CWs being the controller that can control mobs while still dealing damage. You have GWFs whose main role is to hold aggro of, and try to neutralize trash mobs so to keep them off everyone else. DCs who are the primary healer and can also help out with damage occasionally. GFs whose primary goal is to hold aggro of elites and bosses so the others don't get wiped. And then of course TRs whose primary goal is single target damage on elites and bosses.

Really don't get the point of threads like this. It's pointless. There is no place for this type of mindset in mmos built around roles imo. Yes damage matters, don't get me wrong. But try to complete the epic dungeons running roles only caring about out dpsing others. Good luck with that lol.
