Help me understand MMO's and this game.

I am a complete HAMSTER when it comes to these type of games. I picked this game up once it went into OB and haven't stopped playing it. I have been having a blast, and have gotten a GF and a DC to lvl 60. But it seems that is about the only fun in this game, is getting a character to lvl 60 then the fun stops. Getting into a dungeon once you hit 60 is nothing short of a miracle. I do not get how one is supposed to farm for gears if I can not get into a dungeon. And at that once I DO get into a dungeon (playing my Cleric) every SINGLE monster in the dungeon is on my A$$ and i die in 1 to 2 hits. How in gods name is a healer supposed to heal the group when he is being chased by every monster. This is something that is way over my head and how to heck do devs think that would be fun?? Doing foundry quests is pointless. I want to farm for gears NOT run around doing silly quests that has no reward.

I really do not want to give up. But I am very close to it.

1. What is the best gear set for a DC that would help me survive being chased by EVERY SINGLE MONSTER in a dungeon? And how is the best way to acquire it?

edit: had to change spelling of HAMSTER <---really? they do not allow the word HAMSTER? is that a joke?

For best set to accomplish that, I'll leave that to those more familiar with equipment.

However, some potential good news: The way aggro is assigned to group members is being adjusted in today's patch. Hopefully this will help DC.

Also, there is a feat (Battlewise) for DCs that may reduce your personal aggro more effectively after this patch, and also a passive power (Soothe) that may be more effective after today's patch at reducing it. However, this is pure speculation, and depends on how well the changes to aggro in the game patch helps DC.

So the patch today is in relation to "normal" servers? Or the test preview server?

First as a cleric you are currently pulling double duty as both group healer and tank because the aggro/thread mechanics are out of wack in Neverwinter. If Cryptic is successful GF will be useful and tanking for the group which will allow the cleric to spend more time on the healing.

Second if you are looking to increase your level 60 game experience join a good level 60 guild. Having experienced people to run end game dungeons with is totally different then PUGing (Pick Up Group) using the dungeon queue system. In my opinion the PUG LFG tool is only useful up to level 30 or so because the skill required to pull off a dungeon increases beyond the point that the average group of random players will be successfully able to do.

    What server you on?

I'd be willing to teach you some stuff, been playing MMO's for awhile and I've cleared all content in the game without exploits.

The patch is for the live servers. And there are some huge changes to the way threat works for clerics. Hopefully it will be enough to fix the problems with DC aggro that you're talking about. Specifically, there are fixes to the Sooth passive which will make it much more effective, and your threat as a healer will now be effectively divided by the number of monsters in an encounter, instead of counting separately for each of them.

So, say, your party is fighting 5 mobs and you heal someone for 1000. Before: Every mob sees the 1000 heal for its full threat value. After: Every mob only sees threat from you as if it was a heal for 200. Note this still means that if a trash mob spawns and has no threat record against anyone in your party, it will still likely run towards you... After all, 200 threat is still more than 0 threat. But it will be much easier for a GWF or CW to take the aggro away from you with just a little bit of AoE damage. Your party members have to be aware that they need to do that though.
