I have to wonder if a certain culture's tipping has spilled over to Neverwinter. While an author's work is usually a deeply personal thing, they aren't a waitress whose very livelihood depends on your donations. I mention this in the hopes that when I say I don't tip every quest, I won't be pelted to death with stale pastries.

I always tip, although not always a large tip. It depends partially on how much AD I have personally.
I also usually leave feedback, unless I am in a hurry because of some outside influence.
How many stars do people usually leave? I think I have only left max stars one time. I don't believe that everyone should be the best, or it makes the best look weaker by comparison.
I just wanted to say that after reading this topic, and realizing how much I love some of the Foundry missions I've tried (like Nightmare on Market Street), that as of last night I have started tipping Foundry creators.

I have no problem tipping if I especially enjoyed a quest. The way I see it there are two voting components. Giving a star of 1-5, and if it was especially well built throw in a tip on top. So I don't tip all of them, but I do usually tip "good" or better ones if they've made a strong effort.
I don't usually tip the same module more than once, but there have been a couple.
I play a lot of foundry stuff and tip the first time I play a quest if I've enjoyed it (and have any tips left that day) Generally anything that would earn 4 or 5 stars.
On the subject of stars I really wish it was out of 10 instead of 5. I want to reserve top marks for the stuff that I've really enjoyed, 3 stars is generally for stuff that is ok, but could do with a bit more work, 1 or 2 the quest is broken or really slapdash (and I most likely won't have finished it, so don't get to review it anyway), so most stuff gets 4 stars, but I'd love to be able to have about three categories of 4 star!
I tipped once for a couple of the achievements. To be honest I should probably tip more. But I've got a list of stuff I'm waiting to get with AD and any spending detracts from that. So for now I'm being stingy, but once I get where I want to be I intend to tip more.
Refer to Chili's awesome post.
I don't always max tip but try the Foundry. It's easy enough to make a bland as heck quests but even the worst quests take a decent amount of effort. Try making anything with the Foundry and you'll have a new appreciation for the effort put into most quests.
If they get anything above a 1 they probably deserve a tip.
i do know how much effort it takes dont have anything published but i am working on something but even still it doesnt take much more effort to make it good rather then a grindfest with no story which alot seems to be its not hard to add even a little bit of story behind the different fights
Depends on the mission tbh.
I'll generally give the larger tips to the longer missions, with interesting plot that aren't just there as a mindless daily farm.
The lesser amount I'll often give to the more interesting or witty shorter ones.
i think about 1% of the people that use the Foundry mission tip XD i did it once cause the mission was short and funny i think more should create good missions of 15 min with multiple chapters so you can follow an history or something and also do foundry mission during the event and the daily quest
Everything works out in the end . If it hasn't worked out yet, it isn't the end...

if the quest was well done i leave a tip. if it had a really good story that immersed you into the quest they get a max tip. but if there is no story and and mindless slaughter or they made it way to difficult for a certain classes to complete but not for another then no tip.(best solution i seen to this problem are the authors that incorporate a difficulty switch. they always get tip for that.)

Then again I'm an author almost exclusively and I know the time and effort it takes to deal with the foundry and get it to do what we need it to do to tell the story we are trying to tell.
If more people dabbled around with the foundry tools and got first hand knowledge of what it takes to create a quality quest I think everyone would tip as much as they could, even to the bad quests.
Yup, any Foundry I complete gets 500, unless its was absolutely horrid.

Ha, I'm such a dork. I thought it was to provide them with a tip (advice) and always wondered why they wanted feedback in two places.
You aren't the only dork. I honestly read the 'tip' request as a want of feedback and did not tip the first few foundry quests that I went through because I thought they were well made and I had no advice to give!
I was not tipping for most of the game, as I was just sort of overlooking it. Once I realized this, I tried to make sure to tip some of the author's whose content I had run several times. However, I would tip more if it was not such a pain to earn AD. In fact, I stay so busy trying to earn AD efficiently that I don't do the Foundry anymore, so I'm not tipping anyone at the moment.

Yes and always the max, I for one appreciate the effort that they put into it, and I usually try to add positive comments or feedback for improvement.
