Only i have the problem as a cleric to when shift to non red area i still get pulled back to red and get hit? I dont have this problem in pvp and my connection is fine.
Pretty certain its connected to some lag on the servers, i dont have it always and some times its worse than others times.
I often get it at the frost giant boss in Frozen Heart and often its the whole group experiencing it. ei. Doing a shift and then rubberband back to where you just were, to get 1 shotted by frost giants huge aoe.

In the last 24 hours I have gone from founder, to very pessimistic player, and I will confess my dodgy lag (even for Melbourne) affects my view on this game.
I see the countdown on my personal "downed please rescue", but I'm not aware of the countdowns on the players that run out of hit points, and I am nearly sick of PuG'ing and having my Blue circle (8/June/2013, Div charged Astral Sheild....RIP) full of mind blast cones, so when I a party member runs and channels me up, I'm insta-****ed and running back from the start.
As some of you may notice, there is nothing more disappointing than a game, a player culture, a set of mechanics, or a pipeline of cable under the Pacific, that has you standing, dodging, Div-Sunburst'ing while drinking big health pots simultaneously, to be dragged back to death, a death that you have to release from.
If any wish to chime in and tell me how I am the problem, go ahead.
If and when I log back in, your wasted effort may get a reply, but don't hold your breath.

I've been having this for about a week now as well, as have others. Since the last AH fix (massive stacks of runes from exploitable chests or w/e). It's a 50/50 shot whether I get rubberbanded back into the red I just dodged out of.
It is an issue that was introduced a couple of weeks ago due to fixing a Stamina exploit when they shifted calculations from client side to server-side. This has affected all Shift moves, and badly affected GF's Guard (to the point of uselessness in certain circumstances).
There does not appear to be an easy fix. The game should not have been released with such calculations client side (you'll never see that in other major MMOs) so they do not have a well-designed and tested replacement.
Maybe the new major patch incoming will be an improvement, but it is unlikely to fix it back to the state it was before. It is that hard a problem to do from scratch.
