Pet's EXP from PVP matches

Earlier when i started this game i used to do arena all the time
and by that time i had 2 of the normal white pets and during that time both of them were lvling really fast from the PVP exp too.. they both hit lv15 really quick..
Now i got a phoera.. and it was the same up until lvl15.. after that point.. im not sure why.. if its a bug or a game mech..
my phoera kinda stopped getting any exp from my PVP matches.. it does get them from time to time.. but not from every match.. is been a pain to lvl it up and its only lv20.. and its been stuck in 20k/25k from 21 for the past couple of days cuz i havent done anything else other than PVP matches..
so.. the bug is in pets getting exp from PVP be4 lv15? or is a game mech that they stop getting exp past lv15??
