My quest takes you through a recreation of the World of Warcraft Scarlet Monastery's Library side. I spent a great amount of time in trying to get the layout and mobs as accurate as possible. (Note: I had to change some of the names of the bosses and some of the references to avoid copywrite issues.) While the first room has a Parody on a 5 man WoW adventure party (not really vital to the overall story just some fun and humor) and a few other WoW references, the overall story has been recreated to fit into the Forgotten Realms/Neverwinter game. So even none World of Warcraft players can hopefully enjoy. And hopefully anyone who played the Scarlet Monastery can appreciate the detail of the replication :D as SM was always on of my favorite instances.

Reviews are very appreciated so it can get full foundry status and out of the review state. As well as any suggestions or compliments are greatly appreciated. This was my first attempt at a Foundry and I hope if it goes over well to turn this into a campaign that transcends both "Azerothia" and The Forgotten Realms.

My quest code is: NW-DBFKOUN5K

If you wish to have yours reviewed back I will gladly review back just post your code in your review. Thanks!!!!

This was one of the most fun memories of that game. You did a great job putting it into the foundry *claps*

Good stuff for what it is, like I said in my review. Quite of few of the interactables were still labeled with their default names ("Scroll 2" etc.), but overall pretty decent. Like I said, my personal preference would be to make the SM your own--make the encounters more varied and enjoyable, instead of the constant repetition, like in WoW.

Anyway, when you get an hour, I'd appreciate a run through of my monster... :)

    Thanks for you reviews/replies! :)

@xhanjira thanks for your comments I am glad you enjoyed the Nostalgia. It is definitely rewarding knowing the work you put in gets appreciated and more important people have fun with it.

@beeblebrox69 I will gladly give it a run :D Thanks for pointing out the default names of the interactables it is something I overlooked. This was my first attempt and there definitely is a learning curve. I did actually think about changing the mobs up a bit in SM (IE I had an idea to zombiefy the scarlet mobs as part of a story line but ultimately decided to take a more traditional approach.) I am planning on turning this into a campaign and the second map is going to be a more unique set up in the Forgotten Realms so there will definitely be some different mob dynamics there!

Okay I reviewed it. Having never played what you were trying to duplicate, I cannot comment on that. I can say that it was challenging. I think that was the feeling you were going for. That said I do feel many will quit in mid quest. The respawn gets further and further away each time you die. This combined with the extremely long corridors might discourage people. There was a lot of trash to clear but much of it was avoidable. I assume that is how it was in Scarlet monastery. The final fight was challenging enough.
I like the level of detail in the library, though there appear to be some candle lights floating in the air and the lens flares don't do what I think you were going for. I'd take those out. The length of the quest was fine. Might be a popular daily quest one day.

All in all a decent quest. Needs just a bit more polish.

Regarding the floating candle flame, I've seen that in several Foundry quests now. It must be a bug in that room. There's a similar bug in the huge crypt room too where a section of chain from one of the hanging braziers sways back and forth mysteriously by itself only a few feet off the ground. :) I covered it up with some scenery, but it's annoying to have to do that, and the floating candle room is just a small hallway, so there's not too much room to try to hide it.

I played your quest but right on phase 3 of the final boss the servers shut down :( But I will gladly play it again as soon as I can. Spoiler: it will be a 5/5!!! You have to know this was a thing of beauty you really showed off the true power what you can do with the Foundry. People have been knocking the Foundry for lack of rewards or experience but to me this is truly what the Foundry is all about. Not only was the story and the level of detail amazing the interactions of the environment were incredible. This adventure did not even seem like custom content it seemed like a professionally made game. I am somewhat in all at the power of the Foundry and what its capable of. Major Kudos. I will definitely play it again and get a review in there for you as well as recommend it and pass it along hopefully down the line this well be a featured quest as it should be... One last thing I could see the attention to detail of almost every mob.

Dang it! I've been toying with the idea of translating some favourite WoW dungeons over as well, but you beat me to it. Is your Scarlet Monastery solo-able?

Thanks for the review and the notes. Regarding the lens flair I agree I was not happy with them either I just ended up leaving them for now. Essentially it was an open court yard with out a roof in that center part so I was trying to give at least somewhat of an open feel. However, since the light did not extend far enough down I agree on your observation. I actually considered putting a second campfire in the one avoidable trash room. I do that for sure now. As far as the floating candles I am not sure what that is from a foundry bug I suppose? The difficulty of the quest is one of the more challenging things to figure out I was only able to scale up to the early 30's and (my two characters are 37 as well) So I really was not sure how it scale for say a level 60? As far as shorten the corridors or the extra trash its hard to do that with out jeopardizing the authenticity of what SM looked like. I appreciate your comments and reviews though. I will need to check out some of your stuff when I am on again.

I'll try it on my L60 cleric. The acid test for difficulty scaling, I suppose.

The foundry creator only let me auto-scale up to 31, and my two in game chars are 37 DC and TR rogue and both did it fairly reasonably I look forward to hearing your input on the difficulty at level 60. :D thanks for giving it a try! Oh and there are still plenty of other instances to tackle including two 3 other sides of the Monastery! Go for it.

Just completed your quest with my 60 cleric. Certifiably soloable - although I took 30mins :P

Thanks. I went into yours and could not finish it solo. The packs of wolves/werewolves just ate me alive. I will try another character or do it with a friend in a bit. First impressions of it though. Concept is awesome. I would love to see you expand the environment and make it more detailed and theme oriented, just because I think your concept is really cool :) A couple of little things is I would give "Dora" red shoes/boots. I would also have the the Wicked Witch summon something other then the giant werewolves thinking something flying (like the monkeys in the book/movie) Off hand I think the fire Imps probably would be best suited :) Great Job so far though looking forward to finishing it.
