Cant see anyone

My son, Bro in law both created new accounts. then we all created new Chars. We can friend each other but if we all stand in the same place we can't see each other. Search for the other players and nothing comes back, but they are in the friends list. I'm new to MMO but I would think that friends should be able to play with friends.

    There are multiple copies of the same place. You can fix this -- friend each other and ONE of you can right click on the other one (in the friend's list, the O button by default) to "move to same instance" and it will fix the issue. Once you reach a certain level (6, maybe??) you can group up and the same move-to instance is on their character portrait in the group. Also once you group up, you will be in the same instances by default after you meet up, so its a once a day issue.

    searching for players is funky, you need their handle not just their character name. Its charactername@accounthandlename and aggravating to find your buddy.

    Also be sure (duh?!) you are on the same server. You can't meet someone in beholder if they are on dragon!

    We are both in the 'social' area and see each other. We right click and the options are Private Message (tell), Remove as friend, Ignore player - grayed out is trade and inspect

    Just send a PM saying what Instance you are on, and have them transfer to yours. This can be done using the Icon on the right side of the minimap. If your Instance is full, you can can scroll and have all three of you transfer to a less populated Instance.
