Phoera Pet doing nothing?

I unlcked one of these and decided to use it as my pet, but it does nothing in combat... is it supposed to fight with me?

    It's like a wizard pet. It has a melee attack, a dot and an aoe aura effect at lvl 30. At maximum level my phoera does around 1100 single dmg, and dots around 300 / tick. The AOE dmg does roughly 30-40 damage per second and it's a persistent effect (kinda like an aura) instead of being a true AOE. It does add some moderate DPS however it produces huge amount of threat that it dies to pretty much every monster encounter. Mine has roughly 17K HP but still dies like their armor is toilet paper (well they in fact had 0 defense or AC).

    Edit: I was sort of disappointed the last ability it has is an aura instead of a targetted AOE or PBAoE. All in all it's not a bad pet to have just that it's not that great either.

    ok, I see now, it's doing some stuff...

    So I saw that at level 0 it has 11 power, crit and armorPen. All other pets that I see for sale have 8 for each of those starting off. Of course I don't see this one for sale. So it seems that this is a little better than other companions?

    Also, I noticed the Fire Archon for sale from the bar merchant is all 8's, but the ones that people are selling on the auction house are all 11 in power, crit and AP. So why is that? Is there a Fire archon that drops somewhere? Or does the Fire Archon drop from Nightmare Lockboxes also?
