Greetings all.
Before I take off: let me tell you that I am a fervent role player (pen and paper/MMO/similar).
I've been playing D&D/AD&D since I was 12, which is now 30 years ago.
I had NWN/NWN2 with all packs, played both online as offline, and now I entered NWN: O.
And it is NOT at all Neverwinter Nights, not even remotely.
Classes:
The MOST important class that's missing is the Blackguard.
Other important classes: Ranger, Mage, Necromancer, ...
Only a third, if not even a third, of the classes is in the game.
Feats:
One cannot pick feats as per the 2 NWN's, which is a sad thing.
Why?
Because ATM everyone "is basically a copy of the other in the same class", no versitality what's'o'ever.
It was great in NWN 2 where you had a Guild of Thieves (online), and every thief/rogue was entirely different from the other.
Each had his own specifications, and these led to great fun.
Something I miss in here.
Role-Play:
Or better, the absolute lack in this regard.
Stunning fact: D&D/AD&D is a role play system, NWN is based on this system, and in the Online version of NWN2 there was incredible RP.
I figured: NWN: O would for sure also be VERY RP-based.... but not really.
Au contrere.
I wonder: will the absent classes be inserted any time (soon)?
Will we, in a long run, be able to take feats as per the more original games?
Can we ever make more personal, unique characters?
I truly hope so...
Addendum:
Game Errors:
Kits for one.
They tell me, I have a success chance of 75%.
In reality, they have a 90% and more FAIL rate, rather than the said success rate.
It's not that hard to either set the kits to the correct 75% success rate, OR to put the correct FAIL rate to the kits info box, now is it.
Well... of course, all this is mere IMHO, naturally...
But such fixes would be nice, indeed.
