Are story quests necessary?

Are there mandatory story quests that will hurt me down the road if I choose to level doing other things such as pvp and dungeons? Will I be able to skip lower level story quests?

    You definitely don't want to skip the Neverdeath Graveyard quest line, since it gives you a bag for the final quest.

    Yeah I'm already past that but somethings are just so boring so I'd rather skip them can you tell me what else would be worth my while to play through kind sir?

    You can skip them. You can always go back and do them later at 60 anyway.
