How do I update my solo party status with a message? How do I see more than 25?

Hi. Just trying to understand the grouping system here.

So it appears as if I'm a default LFG on my status and I'm ok with that. I click on my preferences button and set a message like "looking to party for anything really".

I can only see 25 parties in the Find Party screen and they never have statuses. My friend could see someone with a status though but I couldn't see that party so it seems he was seeing a different set of 25.

If I go to the My Party screen I can't do anything because I'm solo but presumably if I could make myself party leader I could update my party status from here. How do I make myself party leader if I'm solo?

The MMO may change but the inventory tetris stays the same.

As far as I do it, I invite one of my friend, and then I'm appointed as the leader. I believe you can just do that to make you a leader, because I think that once the last player that is on your team left, your party will be disbanded.

I'd rather not be alone, because I value friendships more than anything else.

Ah. So it's not possible to make to start a party without anyone else then? Tricky. I'm in an odd timezone from my guildies so I guess I'm screwed then :/

Feel free to start using any of the custom channels already established in my guide to bring in players you group with a lot that aren't on your friends list or in your guild.

    Thank you.

Problem with channels is that only a tiny percentage of the population use them or even know about them.

I see that the constant complaints about grouping and I think I now know why. Why don't they fix this tiny bit of GUI issue? Surely it's not that hard to fix?

It actually works a little better in CO and I think it did for STO as well. However, it is still a fairly clunky system.
