I don't know why Americans have that problem too. Could be the same issue since Cogentco has capacity problems due to the damaged fiber, so the bottlenecked European traffic could effect performance in general. If you do a traceroute to the servers, do you go through Cogentco's Boston network?

Yep, sure as hell does. I bet this is the problem.

Dragon server, lag/delays are really bad. Even logging into the game took much longer than usual. In the city, I received the "Server not Responding" message 3 times just going through my professions queues. I also was only seeing empty "Results" boxes when collecting my Professions, I had to open my inventory to make sure items were going into my bag before closing the window.

It's even effecting the character select screen, my toons appear with no gear for a good 15-20 seconds upon selecting each.

Edit: I'm in the USA, Central Region.

I'm having huge delay compared to the pre-patch ping, playing from Finland so it was already just decent enough to play this game.

I'm also from Finland, before patch i had ping around 100-200. Now it is 200-700 had to stop playing since I was warping all over the place

This, all of it, on the beholder server and here in the states. On tracerts I usually have consistent <100 ms and hitting the boston server at cogentco at the end, it skyrockets up if it doesn't time out completely with packet loss. Just started yesterday and got worse today. Thankfully it's not just Me. That's a minor relief.

Oh, I'd also like to point out that the forums here are responding very quickly, no lag at all flipping through post after post to test speed on the site. I see no slowdown at all for the site, but in the game, a very different story.

Running into the same problem here in the United States. It can't just be the ping, because a ping of around 200 shouldn't cause the types of effects I'm seeing. Instead I'd guess that it has to do with packet loss causing a need for re-transmissions. I'm finding it impossible to play due to massive rubberbanding, and attempts to block an attack result in me visually raising my shield but then taking all of the damage as the block happens a second or two late.

Hopefully whatever it is, be it the Cogentco issues or something unrelated, is fixed soon and we can all go back to having fun. :)

I'm experiencing all of this as well, and I'm also in central US... It's pretty bad, and making the game almost entirely unplayable.

EDIT: Also, I'm playing on Mindflayer.

I'm having issues even trying to launch Neverwinter. The screen takes an extremely long time to refresh. Once it does, I click "Play". It takes an additional five minutes to get to the character screen. Once I'm in game, it rubber-bands so bad, you can't play the game. Hell, chat even has a ping of about 6000. It's crazy.

Lets see... Patch and then problems. I wonder what it could be???????

West coast and having the same problems. As I posted on another thread the odd thing for me is my son who's desk is right next to mine and on the same network with a similar (my computer is a little higher end than his) setup has zero lag or server issues. That's the part I just don't get.

Have you tried to see (with traceroute) if he passes for Boston, too?

Also connecting from within the US here. I haven't had a huge lag issue, however, I did notice that every new zone I tried to get into last night started a patch and downloading process, which took forever (seeing a disconnect message regularly on the screen while the download was going). It was taking me 3 or 4 minutes to zone into a skirmish. This only started last night, game has been pretty flawless for me up until this point.

No, I will when I get home from work. I'm far from an expert when it comes to networks, but since he's going out on the same router I am wouldn't it be odd if we were passing through two diff lines?

It depends if you connect to the same cluster or he connects to another, while you go out from the same router, depnding on destination you'd follow a different routing.
    Worth a try

Does anyone know the domain or IP of the server we should traceroute to? Without that, testing their Boston theory is going to be difficult. :o

Patch has severely increased rubberbanding for me too, with skill animations playing twice sometimes, and other times going into CD without doing any damage/healing.

When i use shocking execution, the animation and the sound goes off twice becouse of the lagg

Okay just performed a Tracert to the Beholder server and it does seem to be an issue with cogent.

    C:\Users\Vim>tracert 208.95.186.187

    Trace complete.

The Underlined hops are where it is in boston, while the bold are the first two jumps on cogent servers through Paris and london.

it slows down as soon as I hit the Cogent servers in boston, obviously some slowdown is expected, but it is an excessively large ms slowdown
:( Well god knows how they managed to cut one of their cables, but w/e. Guess I'll have to wait for them to fix it...

I find it laughable that the community is doing better at monitoring connection issues than PWE seem to be. I'm on Dragon, and have officially stopped playing until it's fixed. I can manage in PE and out in the world, though it is a trying experience, but I can't do my Foundry dailies because the lag is so ******* terrible.

The packet loss seems to be fixed and my ping (to Dragon) is stable at around 190ms. But this morning (the PST-tonight) I get spikes of rubberbanding and fast-forwards. The ping remains stable, so this seems to be server-side, not connection related.
