It seems it's buged "not surprisingly". it generates a HAMSTER ton of Dialogue tree copies and never actually copies the map properly "nothing is where it's supposed to be".
Please Fix This!

That is all "rant over" :]

Oh no! I wished you had seen the FAQ thread before copying your map.

It's not consistent. I copied a map a few days ago that is max budget (1497/1500) with no problems.

I have never had a problem with copying maps, but here is how I do it. I write out an outline for my story first so I know how many renditions of for example blacklake district I need. I place all the static mob encounters, decorations etc but none of the quest specific stuff. I then rename all of the maps and add a private note to label where each one should play out. I then add all of the quest specific stuff to each one, add them to the story section, then rename them again so they are all just Blacklake District, that way it does not look funny over the mini map.
Please check out my foundry quests!

As the OP points out but nobody seemed to notice, there is another bug with duplication that isn't talked about very often and which can be subtle. Most objects will move slightly when a map is copied. This means that a duplicated map needs to be examined carefully in 3D mode and almost every object adjusted to make it look good again. This is important to know about so you don't unknowingly end up with tons of visual bugs.

Yeah lol, i had that happen to me when i made castle Tieanen. LoL It copied every single conversation piece to every single npc and detail piece lol.

I had a couple reviews like "i talked to a tree once it was funny"

A story driven quest, with a fun and challenging amount of combat, that takes you into the world of Planescape, carefully hand crafted by me.

Tip: It's easy to check if you've forgotten any conversations after going through a duplicated map. Just go to the dialog editor and pull down the drop-down list of dialogues. If some of them appear twice (or more), you've still got objects with erroneously set dialog trees.

My tip: Create the basic layout of your map, including furniture/details and static NPCs. Then duplicate the map and call it Template -<Map Name>. Do this for all maps you create. Then, when you get to a point in your quest where you need to reuse a map, duplicate the Template (don't just rename it, in case you need it further times). Then you can do a run through it to make sure the details are not offset and then start adding the new pieces and dialogs/interactions.

When you're done creating the quest, you can delete the Templates to clean it up.

tilt got it, Honestly the most annoying part of this bug to me is not the multiple dialogue entries, but instead the fact that all the placed items are moved O_O when I spend two days making a custom map and then want to copy it having everything I placed "and took the time to place" just thrown out of whack...its beyond annoying -_-
    Example

    p.s. @zovya, I love it too >.<

another strange thing is if you duplicate the quest it copies the map fine :/
