First off. This game is hugely fun!!! An amazing gaming experience. I don't know the meaning of sleep anymore. But I find I have a huge learning curve with this game. I needs to know the in and outs. (character builds, best paths to take, how, what, and when to use skills, best skills for party play) So I try and come to forums to find info others might have to share and all you see is all this crying about how unfair prices are in zen market. Thread after thread after thread of whining. I do not get that. These forums are looking like Blizzard forums that a trolled 24/7.
If you are gathering to many things mail yourself items you would like to keep if you can not afford more space. If you feel like you messed up your guy and need to respect. Hit delete and make a new one. From my experience so far I have had no use for zen market. (but i will in the future) And I have no problem what so ever paying for what ever I might want or need.
Is it not only fair to help these Devs that gave us this amazing game? To support them. They GAVE us this game. Did anyone HAVE to pay for it? I didn't. These guys at cryptic from the mods to devs are so active with their fan base it is so refreshing and makes it all that more exciting to play. They are so on the ball as soon as something happens to the servers or they feel they need to do emergency maintenance BOOM we know about it and they keep us updated regularly. That within itself is very unique.
But anywho. I am on a search for like minded people who are having a blast with NeverWinter. To talk and discuss the game and different builds. And the ins and outs of the game. I have alot to learn I feel it would be great to find people who like to talk about the game. No hate or rage, mature people who know how to have fun.
Noone is arguing the game isn't very fun. It is very very engaging and quite enjoyable, the problems arise during mid to late game when you basically realize to be viable and competetive you need to spend ridiculous amounts of money on the cash shop. See how much bag space you retain with the billions of enchants that drop. See how many dungeon groups you get with your gearscare without footing the bill for some AD or zen items. Try pvping without dropping some serious cash for the uber enchants every rich kid is going to be running around with.
The reason people are upset is because the prices are beyond unreasonable, noone is complaining about spending money, it's just HOW much money they have to spend. This is perhaps the most greedy free2play game I have ever witnessed. I enjoyed my time, I spent alittle money, and I won't spend anymore because it's just absurd with pricing. The problem is I can't help but think i'm the norm here and not the minority. I am not rich, i work hard for my money and I don't mind spending some money on a hobby i enjoy, but when I seriously have to deliberate dropping 10 bucks on a ******* bag slot, my love affair with the game is over. It really is a shame because this game is alot of fun, and I had some fun with my friends this week, but we are all coming to the same conclusion...rather quickly.

yuuuuuuuuuuup, the pricing scheme for this game makes it feel like a quick money grab instead of something the developers intend to maintain longterm like LoL
When people are happy with a game, they play the game and spend their time ingame! This is why you rarely ever see praise and positive threads in a game forum, because those people are too busy playing!
But when people are angry and frustrated with a game, they stop playing the game and spend all their time complaining about on the forums!
That's why you should never take any game forum seriously! It's just a hub for angry gamers and people who are at work or school! lol. I'm serious! I'm at work right now and I post on these forums during my breaks! Because as soon as I get home from work, I will not read or even visit these forums whatsoever until the next day at work because I want to spend my time at home playing the game I like!!!

Game forums are invariably just filled with people complaining. Mostly about things they know are ridiculous, but they just enjoy angering other people and getting attention. Stick to the wiki for actual information. Luckily, the attitudes here do not in any way reflect a majority. As with any MMO, it will be almost uheard of if even 10% of the player base ever even visits the forums a single time.

Actually all the complainers also spend a large amount of time ingame. Go to main town at any given peak hour and watch the zone chat for about 45 minutes straight and tell me it doesn't make you want to blow your brains out.
And they spend HOURS THERE, rehashing the SAME TOPIC OVER AND OVER.
Earlier I queued up for a dungeon that took around 100 minutes to win
I got back, and it was the same people complaining about the same ****.
They hadn't PLAYED the game in 2 hours, they just stay in town and troll the zone chat with their *****ing.

And how is that different from other f2p's? If you are going to pvp you will need to be at the cap and have the best gear to have a shot. If you don't pvp, you do not need to blow the money. Your choice on how to play.

Thankfully you can turn off zone chat in this game. Clears up the chat window fast.

Wrong. You don't have to have the best gear to have a shot. Guess what, you don't have that Greater Thunder Enhancement and neither do 95+% of other players.
You just get SO focused on that one round you can't win and that guy who killed you six times in a row (which probably had more to do with his build and the powers he had set than it did with him being p2w or overgeared) that you get mad and cry "It's unfair!" and you can't look at it from an objective perspective to realize that most people DONT HAVE this gear that you think is "necessary to stand a chance."
The truth is, you just get it in your head that you want the gear, but it sounds like too much trouble to obtain it the way it is now, so you want them to make it easymode for you so you can enjoy.. well, playing the game on easy mode. So you complain that the way it is now is "unbalanced," and you keep yelling it loudly enough and often enough that you never even look back and realize that the guy who beat you had 900 less power and crit than you and still managed to win, because you're too stubborn to change your powers and try a different, more viable, strategy.
"I like the strategy I have, it would work if I had more insane gear, so you need that to win."
I think some people idea of fun is different from the OP. Complaining over and over about the cost of a free game do not qualify in my eye . You can buy everything you want by simply playing the game. So lets get back to the real topic ...
I too enjoy the game, but i feel there is some needed growth to reach a state which would provided durable enjoyment. Combat and boss designs are pretty entertaining but the quest setup is too linear and would benefit from more variety for each level range. I expect them to add more quest arcs that will intersect with the main quest line at some point giving player alternate leveling patch as well as a more complex and rich view of the world. Not only quests that are centered on Neverwinter survival.
I would be delighted to see some political intrigues backed with faction choices within Neverwinter and between cities, or quest lines that ultimately cant be won and lead to neverwinter being set back. I would like to see profession being linked to questing by providing quest material to be delivered to battle front lines.
Combat dynamics goes a long way into immersing players into the game but in the long run i feel there will be need for more intricate mechanics to keep people interested.

I can see playing this on and off for the next year and at some time giving some money but not until I really need to.

I agree this game is awesome. I can't wait for the rush of ' new game ' people to leave . Then the forums will get a lot more civilized .
