riven84 is basically in every post that has remotely hint of complain in it to defend....ive read my way thru alot of the posts as im at work atm and bored and his name keeps showing up lol
Should I point out the blatant Astroturfers on this forum who spend eight to sixteen hours a day bashing the game predicting failure and insulting cryptic employees? Should I also point out the Trolls in Zone chat that brag about making multiple accounts just to troll and hate on the forums?
Bottom line is opinions on this forum either way means Jack and Ship, we have yet another 4chan cess pool that the moderators can't control.
You will see. I wouldn't want to spoil anything for you.
While you could be right, this is exactly like saying McDonald's "secret sauce" doesn't have the ingredients listed because it's a "trade secret" when the reality is that they don't list the ingredients because one of them is horse.
I bet you'll get tons of flak for being honest, however.
I personally find how boring and unoriginal the floorplans are after DDO's sterling example is appalling; I'm not a huge fan of the mario chests in ADQ1, but by and large the use of all three dimensions in DDO beats Neverwinter with a stick.
Even World of Warcraft has more interesting and imaginative dungeons than this, and that's not saying a lot.
When I said the base storyline for Neverwinter Nights was horrible, and I fully expected the gem to the be the Foundry, I wasn't setting that as the bar >.<
Not to derail the conversation, but what is a "bad floor"? I have never heard that term, and I am curious.
Simply means bad stuff on the ground to be avoided. Its quicker than saying "Theres a poisonous noxious cloud on the ground." Just say "Bad floor". Quick, especially in raids.
Let me point out that I do find the game attractive and addicting to a point. Everyone is harping on the negatives, specifically dungeons because one poster in the thread commented on it, and I rebuttled.
My whole point was that there are both gravitating things to this game that I cannot explain, and things in the game that turn me off colder than a winter. The gravitating portions...you know these things...like for some in GW2 it was the exploration factor...just roam and find hidden areas and jumping puzzles. Theres just something about this game that I cannot label that draws me to it, whether its the environment/ambience of a dark-age dungeony undead fighting game or whatever. But then, the many flaws resurface like a commercial every 20 minutes(literally like a commercial.). First game ever where I have multiple quests that literally say "visit the zen store". Seriously?
Desperate?
The game is a fun diversion, definitely worth the price of a new game, despite being free to play. I don't know why people feel it needs to be the next big game they'll play for eternity - why can't it be something fun to do for a week, month, until a new game you want to play comes along?

Thread seems to have strayed a bit from the original post, but I'll go ahead and point out something I thought when I first started reading this thread --- there IS exploration and it CAN be advantageous. Granted, it's not sandbox-open-world kind of exploring, but there are the Scrying spheres you can find in the zones (for an achievement) and just last night I saw a troll under a bridge and although I had (nor ever GOT) a mission to bother the troll, I went ahead and killed it and it dropped a doo-hickey that started a mission. True, that mission was basically "go see this guy" but it wasn't a mission that was on the "track" for that area.
The Foundry offers even more potential for "exploration" of "new" areas and stories.

Agree, OP.
