TAB skill randomly disabled in PvP.

my friend who plays a GWF says that his TAB skill gets disabled after a while in a battleground.
he presses the key but nothing happens.
then after leaving the battleground, it functions perfectly again.
any ideas what could be the problem and how to fix it?
